I'm not sure how old your little one is............but my daughter complains of a sore throat on occasion. It was always worse when her allergies were draining down the back of her troat. She isn't old enough for any sinus medication, so here's what we do. Cool Mist Humidifier (she loves it), saline spray to her nose, and a bulb syringe to suck out any drainage. Avoid milk products or alot of them. It increased mucous production in the throat and sinuses and makes them want to clear their throat alot and hack. We give her plenty of fluids......she won't drink hot tea or honey. And when her sinuses are acting up we use Johnson's Vapor Bath and Vick's baby rub. BTW, some kids complain of their throat hurting when they have bad ear infections because of the pressure in their sinuses. You may know that already. Good luck & I hope this helps.

Gargle salt water, gross but helpful. He should brush his teeth and use mouth wash after everymeal. To avoid recontamination he should use a clean cup everytime he gets a drink (instead of the same one over and over again), ect. Drink lots of fluids.
I find that throught losanges or cough drops help the pain, they dont treat the problem but they make me feel better.
Hope he feels better soon.

give him salty french fries. the salt creates an inhospitable environment for the germs to live in so they will die and his throat will feel better.....i use this on my self

Depending on how old your little one is, try hot tea and honey. It always works for me.
