I had a my second child three month ago and I am nursing full time, but got my period back about a month ago. Then I think I got pregnant and had some spotting, which could have been implantation bleeding over a week ago. Now my period is past due for a couple of days, but the home pregnancy test is still negative! I read that a negative pregnancy test could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. I will see my doctor tomorrow, to find out more. My son didn't nurse for long intervals in the beginning, but is now. Could the nursing suppress my period? Did anyone know another reason for light spotting during cycles? I am really concerned and would appropriate your help!

breadstfeeding essentially stopped my periods, maybe a day of spotting out of the blue but that was it. after i stopped it took months for them to become anywhere close to being regular. see a doctor if you are worried, you know your body and it would be silly to ignore it. don't stress too much though because it could very well just be due to breastfeeding, especially if his feeding habits have changed

When I got pregnant with both of my children I didnt get a positive test until I was around two weeks late for my period. Very frustrating!!! I know that periods can bea ll over the place when you are breastfeeding so they may not be regular. It may be that you aren't pregnant but your periods are a bit all over the place. I have been breastfeeding for nearly ten months and still havent had a period or any sign even though Im only on two feeds a day. With my first I had my periods back at eight months and he was feeding four times a day.

Hopefully the doctor will sort it out for you.
