What do you do to pass the time?? I have been a stay at home mom since i got out of college which was right after high school.. I became a mom 9 days shy of being 20 yrs old. I vowed to stay home with my son until he could speak enough to let me know if something happened to him anywhere else.. Well my son finally hit 6 yrs old and I was so ready to go back to work and become an individual... Not just a mama.... I didnt want any more kids because of the issues i faced with giving birth to my son, and then out of the blue.... BABY FEVER HIT! you know what im talking about... one day everything changes, everything i wanted to do changed because i wanted a baby girl.... I got extremely lucky and very blessed when God granted me my one wish... Now i have one boy, one girl, my little girl will be 1 on march 9th. So here I am.. starting all over with this stay at home job... and Im going crazy.......
What do you do to enhance and entertain yourself and your relationship with your children?
Plus we live n an apartment w no backyard :( any suggestions?

i read to my children both my son and 11 month old daughter, my son is in an accelerated reading program at school because he loves to read so they get stories read to them as much as he reads to me and my daughter, so thank you for your advice, but keep the criticism to yourself thank you!
Like i said im a stay at home mom, I obviously do all the BASICS, like cooking, cleaning, reading, finger painting, coloring, playing board games, the walks, i have to walk my son to a bus stop 4 blocks from here and pick him up. So we get our walks, I was referring to other things that can be done that I havent thought of, like the scrapbooking online (thank u jessica and danielle)!
I just wanted something new for my son to come home to so its not the same routine, it gets old...
I wasnt looking for entertainment for myself alone, but something that could entertain the both of us together.
We have lived in an apartment for 7 yrs and we have been trying to buy a home with no luck for the past 5 yrs, so if we had a yard i definitely wouldnt need help n keeping him occupied, i just wanted my son to not be so into the computer when he gets home lol
Get some more one on one time with him.
Time to pull out the Wii again :)
Just wish we had something new to do... I dont know anyone around here to do playdates with and since my husband takes our only car to work i cant visit with him on his lunch... but that would be awesome!

I do scrapbooking online. There's a really cool website I found and most of it is free. It's www.scrapblog.com, if you want to check it out. And if you want to do things with your son, ask him what he wants to do. Sometimes it works better that way. The simplest things can be the most fun sometimes

For myself I scrapbook (and do other crafts), read, cook, can (foods) etc. My son and I enjoy playing pretend (although the is a little young to call it that). He will give me something (usually nothing) then take it back, we roll balls, sometimes I take him to the park. Honestly we live in the country so we have a huge back yard plus the pastures for him to explore (w/me for now). Also, have you considered doing college courses online? I'm 21 and a college student w/my son (16m) and 1 due in March...while I was/am preg I take college courses online through the local campus, then when the kids are a bit older I might take a class or 2 on campus. For instance this past fall my son went to daycare/family members on Tu/Th and I went to classes on campus, but now that I'm farther along in my preg I'm taking all of my classes online...Just an idea ;-)

Yeah I am confused Mary. You are asking for suggestions on things to do to pass the time with your kids, but no reading? Reading is an important part. Kids love to have their parents read stories to them.

No time for reading yet you're looking for things to do to do with yourself? Reading is a great way to enhance your relationship with your children imo, it's great one on one time as well. Our son loves to read so we spend a good chunk of the day reading as well as going for walks, finger painting, arts and crafts, cooking, baking, playing games, coloring, hanging out at the local community centers and enjoy toddler open gyms, going to a gymboree class, shopping, going to the playground, listening to music, dancing, visiting Daddy on his lunch hour....those are some of the things that we enjoying doing :)
