Strange rash, any ideas?

I'm sorry I don't have a photograph, but my daughter is so pale I can't get anything that's not a blinding white. =P



I found it the night before last, it was a slightly bumpy area on her hip, a bit ovular and longer than my middle finger. This morning, it almost looked like it was hives, large welt at the top, and not 5 hours later it was nothing but redish pimply looking things, little white dots in the center of each. Still in the same area. She isn't itching it. I know it's not ringworm, and she's been on a prescription antihistimine so theoretically it can't be hives. Any ideas? Going to the doctor tomorrow.

It could be a heat rash because of where it is. it probably doesn't get to much air to keep cool.i don't have a solution as to how to heal it (i'm a new mother my self and lucky enough that my son hasn't had one yet....)just try not to use vaselline it will probably seal it in.

ah, sounds like a different spot. With mine it was in their hip crease. Hope the doctor will be able to help more though!

She is allergic to adhesive.  That might be it.  My husband puts the diapers a little looser than I do, might allow some of it to touch her skin.  I put some diaper rash cream just in case of that.  I put anti-fungal yesterday just to be safe...  It's a weird spot, on the left hip area.  More towards the lower back.

Did you notice how her diaper was positioned when you first saw it? Not something we always pay attention to but it sounds like something my kids have had before.

They used to tug on their diapers and then the tab would be rubbing against their skin and cause the bumpy rash and if it was over night it would definitely be welt like in the morning. Took me awhile to figure it out and I hope this is all it is with yours too.
