I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from a stuff nose the past 3 days. I used dristant for a day and am now using saline drops. it seems to be helping but im curious if there is another natural way to help with this in case the drops stop helping! has any other moms suffered from this and how did you get it solved to make the pregnancy more tolerable

Congestion is common in the first and third trimesters. Its your bodies way of keeping out harmful bacteria and viruses the best it can. Only natural remedies I know are the rinses that have already been mentioned. Mt doctor put me on zyrtec and zyrtec d due to my severe allergies that have added to that congestion. Both of which are category b. Good luck

Hi, I am a registered nurse and also had a stuffy nose with both my pregnancies. This is a completely common thing to have during pregnancy. You can use a sinus rinse that you can buy at your local pharmacy. Also claritin D 12 hour is a pregnancy B category and there are other decongestions that are pregnancy B categorized. If you want a complete natural way then use the sinus rinse nelimed kit, humidifier, and blow your nose, steamy showers to help loosen it up.

good luck :)

Category B

Either animal-reproduction studies have not demonstrated a fetal risk but there are no controlled studies in pregnant women, or animal-reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect (other than a decrease in fertility) that was not confirmed in controlled studies in women in the first trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimesters).

While I was pregnant with my youngest son, I had a stuffy nose for a month and a half. I used Saline drops & Vix. But this was later on in my pregnacy. You should ask your Dr what to take since you're still in your first trimester. Good Luck & God Bless =)
