Switching formula from cow based to soy based. Will it help with nappy rash?

Daughter has been weaned from breast to bottle on cow based formula for 2 weeks now. She now has horrible nappy rash with blisters. It drys out with her being nude, but can't do that forever. I also use castor oil & zinc based cream.

Has anyone switched from cows to soy based formula because of nappy rash? Has it helped? Or will it take longer than her bring on formula for 2 weeks for the nappy rash to decrease in severity?

Thanks

If it's blistering it's a good idea to take her to the doctor or a child specialist as well. It could be something in the milk setting off her reaction, and you may need to avoid it in other foods. It could also be something else in her diet. I find if my son eats citrus he gets really bad nappy rash as well.

Leaving the skin open to air is best, avoid wipes and use damp washclothes. You also might try Lotrimin or another fungal cream. That can clear it up very fast. Good luck!
