I was just wondering if anyone might have some tips for involving your children in weight loss. I have a 6 month old and a 3 year old that I mostly care for alone. I can't commit to going to the gym because I have my little ones all the time. I really want to start taking off the extra weight but don't know what I can do!! Any suggestions?

I lost 50 pounds last year by just changing my diet. I watched everything I ate and counted all my calories. I switched from ground beef to ground turkey and just started eating better all around. Figure out how many calories you should take in a day for your weight and go from there. I know the Lean Cuisines and Heathy Choices meals really helped me out with lunch and then I would make dinner from a low calorie meal and breakfast was a bowl of cereal or egg whites. And when I wanted chocolate those 100 calories cookie packages were good too. The 'Biggest Loser" has some really good cook books that are yummy and lots of different ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts.

I thought about joining weight watchers with a friend but we would be doing it online. Without going to meetings I'm afraid it wouldn't work out for me. I was thinking about getting the Wii. I've tried wii fit and was definetly feeling it by the end! If it seems to be working for some of you then maybe that could become part of my routine!

I have always went to the parks around my house and walked since i have had kids. They have finally outgrown the stroller so they play with other kids while I walk plus i am going to start weight wathcers tomorrow so i am going to see how that goes.

You can join a stroller strides group or just start taking them out for a brisk walk with the stroller. If you can make time before they get up or after they go to bed there are a ton of great workout home programs (beachbody.com has a bunch). It's really just a matter of watching what you eat and getting active. I know you said no to the gym but if you can afford a gym membership, most of the big ones have a daycare center that is perfect. The kids get a little bit of social interaction and play and you get to work out and get some "you" time.
