I am wanting to get a tattoo for my son but I don't really want to do just the regular old foot or hand print.

Any ideas on tattoos for moms with kids? Any one else get a tattoo for their kid?? And if so what did you get??

I want to get a unique one for my son but am kinda of stuck on ideas, getting one of some kind of bird keeps popping in my head but still not 100%

I want to hear some unique ideas and possible see pics of other peoples

Thanks : )

I got a tree on my leg and on the trunk of the tree I got J heart R (my husband and I) and Mason our son's name carved down the trunk. It's my 'family tree'. I love it and it gets tones of compliments.

I got for my daughter when she was 5 months old. It has a butterfly above & a water lily below. In the middle the artist did my daughter's name in fancy letters with her birthdate beneath her name. I have it on my right bicep.

I know you dont want the hand or foot thing. But I'm getting my sons foot print from birth tattooed on my foot. Any other children we may have I will get on my ankle and up. So its kind of looking like my children are walking down my leg. I also thought it would be cool to have my sons foot on my foot. lol

My husband and I took a print of our sons foot when he was 5 days old and he got it tattooed on his arm with his name across it. It looks amazing and the guy was the best in our area so he got all the details of the lines in his foot(not all of them but enough to give some definition) I got our sons name on my right wrist. We also took a print of our daughters foot at 5 days old but he has yet to get her's because we weren't sure if we were having more kids...and we're not lol. So we both plan on getting tattoos again for our daughter. I will get the same thing but on the left wrist and i assume my husband will get her foot print done but maybe on his calf...he isn't sure, which is why we have waited lol
I have a friend who did a tribal sign and did a blue dot in the middle for her son and a pink for her daughter, and she will be getting another blue one in a few months:)
As long as you like it and it's tasteful if it is visible(for work purposes) I see no harm in getting what you want. Even if it's a butterfly to represent your child it's still beautiful.
We have both gotten many comments on our tattoos, just make sure you go in with a solid idea and don't change yuor mind. If you do, you might regret what you got so be sure it's what you truly want:)
Good luck:)

I got my daughters name and her footprint on my back right below my neck. I kind of regret it to be honest, just where I went and how it turned out. I got her footprint in pink and it looks weird and the name kinda looks like gangster writing. I plan on getting it fixed when I have the money.

I drew up my own tattoo I dedicated to my daughter. I created a heart with wings because shes my angle that holds my heart. I put her birthday in the center of the heart and her first and middle name above it. Her father had it done as well he placed it over his heart and I put mine on my shoulder blade.

U should use the bird idea but put them in a lil tree with each child's name, it'll be like a family tree! :)

I sing 'You Are My Sunshine' every night to my son and I imagine I will do the same with every other child I have. I plan on having a sun tattoo done and in the rays have the birthdates of each of my children put in them. This way I only have to get one tattoo but it can be for all of my children.

I just got my daughters birthflower with a butterfly(my personal thing) hovering over it, her name and b'day beside it, it turned out really nice. My friend got her daughters birthflower up her back with name and birthday. A co-worker got her kids' faces tattooed from when they were first born.

i just did her name and birthdate with a feminine design around it and i love it....but i have heard people waiting till their child is older and developes a personality and do something with that. i seen on tv this one woman had a 4 yr old daughter and did a guitar with a tiara and it was really really nice and creative, i guess her daughter was kinda into music like that and loved guitar but was still a little princess lol

I also want to get one for my son. I am planning on getting it on my wrist and it will say either " I will always love you" or "heaven sent" in spanish then under that it will say my son's name and his birthday. But I have also thought I will wait until my son is old enough to write his name, and let him write it and I will have his named that he wrote tattooed on my wrist also. We'll see though, I am still debating what I want to do.

For my daughter I got a butterfly tattoo on my foot with her name in between the the wings underneath the butterfly, it is very flowy black with pink accent. I am pregnant with a boy now, and I plan to get another one on the other foot, but with stars instead of a butterfly.

Im getting a cartoon devil tattooed on my left shoulder blade and an angel on my right. The devil has my husbands initials on his butt in a heart lol and underneath is my sons name and birth date. The angel is a cartoon with a cheerleading top on with the number 22 on her back, like a rugby (gridiron, footy) jersey. The number 22 is a birthdate me and my hubby share, any lil girls we have in future will have their names tattooed underneath as well. Sounds corny I know, but we all have choices in life don't we and the path we take isn't always the right one. My son is my cheeky lil devil, hes what is right after a whole lot of bad stuff in my life

I want to get a portrait of my Eli with Angel wings and my other 4 kids names written in his wings. I started designing it last year and I hope to be done soon.

Hi, I had 2 tattoos just 2 days ago, i had my sons names put on each wrist, not very original i know, but i love them! My 4 year old has asked if he can have a mummy and daddy tattoo! If you type in tattoo ideas on google, there are loads to look at, or you could visit a tattoo shop and ask them to design something for you, that way it will be really personal and unique to you and your child

It seems the foot and handprint thing are the most typical thing to do, but honestly I think you cant get much cuter than that. I suggest whatever you get make it small. I have a friend that got her daughters name tatooed on her ankle and then ended up having 4 more kids, so by the time she was done she had all these names going half way up her leg. It was sweet, but not very attractive.

I just have my Daughters name..when i am done with breastfeeding I'll get my sons name...and eventually I am getting three frogs (one for each child and one for my godson)

[deleted account]

I got a silhouette of a spider monkey behind my ear. It is in honor of both my marriage and my son. The idea goes way back to my husband (then boss) bringing a stuffed monkey to me while I was in the hospital. Then somehow from their it became a theme woven into our life.
I am considering adding a small eastern dragon to the same area. It perfectly reflects my fiery little red-head, plus, he loves Eastern dragons, and how many 5 year olds are into Eastern dragons??
