You could also use a humidifier at night while he sleeps. With my daughter our doctor said she could have pure Robitussin was ok after she had turned 6 months old. There's not much else you can do. Just use one of those things to suck out his nose and try to keep him elevated when possible. We would put our daughter to sleep in her boppy if she was really congested. Just keep him hydrated and let it run it's course.

Our Pediatrician told us not to use Vick's Vapor Rub on infants. I would never use any advice given on here when it comes to medicine without first checking with your Doctor. Vaseline should work well on his nose and steam showers are great too for the common cold. You could also try a humidifier in his room at night. Otherwise his little body will need to fight it off. I know it's not easy to see your little one not feeling well. Just show him lots of love :) I hope he gets to feeling better soon!

I put a little bit of vaseline on my sons nose. Also, my dr. told me I could give him Children's medicine, but only like a tsp instead of the full dose. I would double check with your dr.

Hi Rebecca,Usually a cold needs to run its course. It hurts to see them uncomfortable:=(

If he's really congested let the shower run with hot water and stand in the bathroom with him for like 10 min so it can loosen the mucus.I dont think you can give him anything because he's so young.Orange juice is good because it has Vit c and that helps with cold and flu viruses.

there isn't much you can give him, as pediatricians discourage use of cold medicines in children that young. You can use Vick's Baby Rub on his chest and back to help him breathe. A couple of other tips: put a phone book under the head of his crib mattress to elevate him while he sleeps. When he goes down for a nap or to bed at night, do the following: boil some water and pour it into a glass or ceramic bowl. Then, mix in a tablespoon of Vick's Vapo rub and place it on a table near his crib. The vapors will help to soothe him.
