Maybe they just got used to doing this because of texting but how hard is it to spell out full words? I don't mind people misspelling or using poor punctuation. Typing "wit" instead of "with" and "don" instead of "don't" just makes me wonder if that's how you talk in real life. Doos you tawdler teet you ow to towk wike dat er somtin???

Well, I wasn't meaning spelling or grammar, because I can't spell a bit. I was more referring to text talk. And I still do respect what people say, It is just easier to understand and really read all the way through it and understand. Yes, we do all come from different backgrounds, but I would be able to see the difference if it was the case. I was really meaning text talk. I am sorry if I offended people and I was not writing to be mean, and it seems that some of you were pretty rude back. I did not write anything in a rude manner. I just want to be friends and help other moms. Not start fights on writing. I just figured I could mention that it easier to read and understand when people try to write a little clearer. So if you want to say wanna, gotta, ain't and what ever else, then please feel free too. I don't think your bad for it. I use those words all the time. And Tiffany, i was not meaning to make anyone feel stupid. And sorry if this made you feel stupid. Thank you all

LOL This post is not, in my opinion, stupid or dumb. I've spent a lot of years 'decoding' my husbands and siblings handwriting and letters. I understand the frustration on both sides. It nice to be able to slap whatever up there and have it read and not judged.
My mother is an english teacher. You can get onto me all you want and you'll NEVER have anything on her. I laugh at myself, though, because I don't even use text-talk. My mom texts like an 8yo. Wer u? she asked my dad the other day. LOL
I don't care what you type text or misspell or mispunctuate, if I like or don't like it, that has nothing to do with it.....

this thread really gets me i also want all the mom's out there to know that i respect how they type regardless please dont let this make you afraid to ask questions i really think this group is all about helping one another out and not making you feel stupid cause you might spell something wrong... if we are so perfect why do they have erasers? my godness.. peace

No offence but if you’re going to start a thread on such a subject it may be helpful if you wrote in “proper English” yourself; otherwise yes it does sound pretty dumb!

i really think that its shame that in order to get respect for posts you have to write it a certain way when im busy with my son i sometimes rush to write an important questi on how on so sue me if i write slang although i do agree sometimes i dont understand what certain things mean i still think u shouldnt disrespect someone based on how they write.cant we all just get along!!!

Yes we are all from different backgrounds and i do admit i text speak to friends but i will not teach my daughters that as the grow up.The will probably do it themselves but i think many people who speak and write correctly are guilty of using text speak or slang at times too.

On cirlcle of moms i dont other than omg ,lol and lmao:-)i had to ask my friends what half of the text speak ment first, as i was new to it..lol only on the computer now 16mths after my second was born.

You should respect people reguardless of there grammer and spelling choices, Also there is going to be some difficulty understanding people when there are so many moms from so many diffrent countries useing this application. Every country has there own slang and diffrent words for things.

I have to agree with Morgan. "wanna" isnt proper english. Now Given I admit the slang/text language is irritating but there are moms from All Ages, Countries & Backgrounds on here. Just because I was raised using proper english doesnt mean the girl down the street was

I agree completely, especially when it comes to "text-talk." it isn't much harder to write "lately," than "l8ly," and everyone understands it when written correctly. Also, this may sound a little petty but could people please try and give the post a once over for spelling mistakes? Little ones aren't bad, but sometimes the entire post is so full of them that I don't bother trying to muddle through. I don't mean to criticize or offend, it is just my thoughts.

I agree. Some of the people on here dont understand the many slangs on the computer. Please start this so that many people dont get anything confused, it also helps with the upbringing of your child/children.

True i agree in a way, but i think how ever a mother writes the post we should always want to take it seriously and respect the mother who wrote it.Some of the posts i have seen are harder to make out and takes a few goes of reading it over and over to get the gist, but i do respect them why would i not.:-)its not dumb,for some if you cant understand the post you cant help so i guess its frustrating to many.
