Lots of water and light exercising. If you can get to the local gym and jsut walk the track or the treadmil if it's too cold out. Should do the trick:) Remember not to walk too fast if you weren't a walker before as it can raise your temperature too high but other then that it works for me and keeps me regular

I agree, Traci. We go out to eat Mexican food and I have not once left without having to make a quick trip to the bathroom.

Tht's pretty normal...especially if ur taking iron. I remember being extremely constipated @ times....very uncomfortable!! U can try stool softeners, apple juice, prune or white grape juice & of course, water. Definitely stay away from cheese & bananas!!! Good luck!....if these thgs don't help just talk 2 ur dr. :)

I was told that things that start with with "P" will make you poop. Like pears peaches pineapple, etc.... Also lots of water and juices. I also took a stool softener,

Be sure that orange juice is apart of your everyday diet. Also if this is your first baby make sure that when you have it that they give you a stool softner after. I have 3 kids and with my first one they didn't and I thought I was gonna die bc I had stitches.

My doctor had me take colace a few times a day, but what helped the most was walking. Taking a few long walks definitely helped get things moving.

Just eat plenty of fiber rich foods and ask your doctor what he/she thinks would be okay to take. My doctor is okay with Colace but you should ask yours, all doctors have different opinions of what is okay to take, just something I've noticed.

Water...apple juice...and for me, this might sound ridiculous, but french onion soup ALWAYS loosened me up. I'd avoid the laxatives if I were you. Like a lot of the girls here I was told to stay away from them because they could cause contractions.

also try to avoid alot of cheese in your diet as it will constipate you. like others have said too prune juice, but watch the juice because of too much hidden sugars. and yogurt will help regulate you too.

I discovered this immunity drink in the yogurt section of the grocery store. Its DanActive by Dannon and it comes in a couple different flavors. Not only does it help you build your bodies immunity, it makes you have to go to the bathroom. I even give them to my 16 month old when she seems to be constipated. She goes within hours. Dont drink more than 1 a day.....it worked for me!

I had that problem horribly all through my pregnancy. Id say LOTS of fibre and liquids, especially water. Try to get apple juice and apple sauce (P/P suggested too). That seemed to decrease the amount I was for a period at least. GL!

I would just make sure you eat friuts like apple and oranges anything with fiber. Fiber choice cereal honey clusters is good. This is normal when you're pregnant especally if you take extra iron. I had to take extra iron all three times and with my first I learned to eat foods with fiber to counteract with the iron.

Metamucil Fiber capsules work really well. I also like to eat those fiber one granola bars. A couple of those gives you about 80% of your suggested daily fiber intake.

Amassage therapist can also massage your tummy to help your body manipulate the blockage... Just a thought. Have someone massage your tummy from your right pubic bone to right below you ribs, from thatbpoint to right below your left rib cage down to your left pubic bone.... add slight pressure to manipulate the blockage... OR go see a massage therapist who should be able to help. If its severe its a thought.

I would go to a health food store and tell them you are pregnant and they will be able to give you some natural stool softeners; or ask your doctor! Don't be afraid to speak up girl it happens to everyone!

It happens to use all. I actually was for almost 3 months. I was told to eat bananas and dairy's and drink alot of water since it goes through your digestive system. The more water the looser your stools become. Or you can ask your dr and they may give you a stool laxative which is gross but works.

Exercise worked best for me....I tried to stay very active walking and the elliptical all through my pregnancy which alleviated so many problems...I was even at the gym the day I went into labor...he he. I had no constipation and no swelling. It helped with labor too. Anything you can do to just keep moving through the day will help.

Have you tried drinking prune juice? Its nasty but it works. I wouldnt take anything over the counter for it. If the prune juice doesnt work you can mix 2 tablespoons of corn syrup in a drink (orange juice is the best) twice a day..that helps too. But if those dont help then call your OB/GYN and see what they suggest. Trust me its not embarrassing. It happens to us all :) Good Luck!

WOW I stayed so constipated when I was prgnant! Partially due to my cheese cravings! One time it was so bad and the enema I tried didnt work, and I was in so much pain, I called ems. It was that bad. They recomended go to the hospital so that I did. (which was embarassing bc the dr was sooooo CUTE) I was in so much pain I really didnt care that bad. Mainly what you should do, because I didnt do this as much as I should have when I was pregnant, is drink drink drink. Fluids are your best friend! Water, juice...I hated water and was never thirsty but forced 1/2 water and juice down. It reallyt helped. It softenes everything up!

lots of water. dried fruit. i had that issue. fiber one makes these muffins (blueberry, apple cinnamon or something else) i loooove the apple cinncamin ones. they are delicious. they make you kind of "farty" lol for a day or two but they taste sooo good and they have lots of fiber which helps. also, try a fiber pill. i had to take iron when i was preggo because of anemia but the fiber did wonders. benefiber makes a pill, a chewable or a drop in you put in water. good luck!
