Hi moms,

My son is 17 months old and has 2 spots on his face (on his right and left cheek) where he gets eczema all the time (since he was probably 6-8 months old). It's always the exact same spots, and as soon as I put cortizone on them, they goes away. I put aquaphor on them 2-3 times a day to keep the skin moisturized, but the spots still come back every 1-2 weeks or so. I've tried using the stronger cream and again, it makes the spots go away but they always come back. Any suggestions? I'm scared of damaging his skin by always putting cortizone on it....and he doesn't have eczema anywhere else on his body.

we use the Earth's best baby laundry detergent, so i'm not sure how much more natural we can go, but i'll definitely try the emu oil and the spectro cream. where do i buy both of these things? thanks so much for your helpful advice moms!

first try switching your laundry detergent to something more natural, if that doesn't work we used spectra care eczema care for kids. Worked wonders, our sons eczema has been gone for 2 months now

Have any of you tried switching laundry detergent? my son had an eczema problem and I switched over to ALL free and Clear and almost immediately I could tell a major difference. he is 7 now and I can go back to using other detergents. Just an option for you to try! But please be sure that it is dye and perfume FREE.

I have the same problem with my daughter, her legs and torso are the worst. I don't believe that the cream will get rid of it but it sure helps, I have been putting it on my daughter for 2 years now and if I miss a day it is horrible. All I can say is that it gets to be a routine, and while it can be annoying, at least it helps your little one to feel better! I know adults can take pills for eczema, but for babies and young children the only safe thing is the cortisone and aquaphor, or you can put petroleum on after you put on the lotion to help lock in the moisture..
