My daughter is almost three months old, she sleeps in a moses basket next to our bed at night. Now that she's a bit older and sleeping mostly through the night I want to transfer her to her crib in her own bedroom. I'm starting by having her sleep in her crib for naps during the day, and then when she gets used to that I'll try putting her in her crib at night. Is that a good plan? What else could I do to try and make that transfer smoother for her?

What we did when we were moving our children into there own room was to put them in there playpen at the foot of our bed. Then the next week we moved them into the hallway. By the third week they were in there own rooms. I think it helped because they could still hear us, but they gradually got use to the quietness of their own room.

I just started trying to get my DS to sleep in his crib. I only do it overnight and he sleeps for about 4 hours ( he was sleeping 6 in our room). My husband thinks that I'm nuts, but here's our process.
We start by heating up his bed with magic bags about 10 min before he goes in. I feed him 7 let him sleep in my arms for about 30min. Then swaddle him and put him in his crib with either whale music or the Beatles playing. His light is on a dimmer, so we leave it on low. Thens as we put him down, we take about 5 mins to remove our hands from him completely. The last step and probably the most important is RUN LIKE HELL!!!! :)

That is what we did with our daughter and now she loves her room and her own space. We also got a bear called "Mommy sounds womb bear" and she loves it. It helps her keep calm and I think feel like someone else is near her.

I think what you're doing is great...getting her to sleep in her crib for naps and such. It is great that you're doing it at this time too since she is still young enough that she won't be too attached to your room but she can sleep through the night.

Do you all sleep with a tv or radio or something on? my Fiance falls asleep with the tv on. The last few nights, we didn't have our tv on and my daughter couldn't fall asleep. We had to turn on a radio for her to get to sleep. So, If yo all have cirtain noises in the room, it might be a good idea to make those noises apparent in her room =]
