If u are breast feedin it is very common for moms not to have a period so... yes u have to have ur first period before u can get pregnant again

My oldest is 4 years in august, i am 38 weeks 5 days today with another boy. i concieved in september and never had a period since February 2009. So i concieved without a period, its just harder to know if you are. my dr told me when i had bloodwork done looking for problems to find out why i never had one

If you are nursing you will not usually ovulate until the child weens off some. You ovulate before your period so women who do fall pregnant don't usually know for a little while because they never got a period so they assume they couldn't get pregnant...so it is possible to get pregnant before you get a period but it's like the chicken or the egg...which came first...just have fun trying and you're little one is only 5 months so maybe give your body a bit more time to recoup. You haven't yet built up all the storage you need to carry another baby and you may end up harming yourself by getting pregnant this early. Just keep up with the prenatal vitamins and it will happen when it's meant to be and you will be ready:)
Good luck

It is common for women not to have a period while breast feeding. You do not have to have a period to become pregnant while breast feeding.

Yes, You have to Ovulate before having a period. So if you have sex while your ovulating and sperm meets eggs, than you will become pregnant and not have your first period. (but who knows how long it will take you to ovulate) Are you breastfeeding? If not you can ask your doctor for a prescription to bring on a period.

well before i got pregnant i hadnt had a period in 2 years. i never used protection with my husband because we wanted kids but we were for sure it probably wasnt going to happen. but i found out i was pregnant. dont ask me how, im not a doctor, but i do believe it i possible to conceive without a period
