when i came of the depo on jully2010 i had gotten pregnant 4 months later my addivise to u is keep doing sex all the time even during ur periods it works for me but it could also work for u exspecially for some1 hus trying to get pregnant after the depo thats how i had my beautiful baby boii after comeing of the depo

When I stopped the depo shot after being on it for a little over 2 years, it took 7 months for me to get a period again. We waited a few more months and then started trying and it even took another 6 months to get pregnant after that. The longer you've been on the depo, the loner it might take to get completely out of your system. Just make sure you're eating healthy and getting some exercise regularly and that will help your chances all the more. Know your cycle and when you're ovulating to better your chance of getting pregnant. Good luck, I'm sure it will happen for you soon!

I stopped taking the depo shot in June of 2011. August 2011 I got a 4 day period which was very very light. Then after that I didn't get anything. I found out my thyroid was bad so got that under control. Had a transvaginal and regular ultrasound done. Was diagnosed with a septate or bicournate uterus. Had a HSG test done shortly after. Tried Provera twice with no success. At my last doctor appointment I was reffered to and Endocronologist and given BC Notral 1/35 pills. Finally after 1 year and 5 days I finally got AF on the 19th of August 2012. I have been TTC for 16 monts now. Hopefully now with AF being back she will stay back and we can try for baby 1 by the end of this year! :)

Don't get too over anxious. It typically takes approximately one year for all the depo to get out of your system, but it does depend on how long you were on it. I was on depo for 6 years and 9 months before I finally came off of it. I stopped my depo shots in Nov 2010, by July 2011 my cycles had just started back. I got pregnant in Oct 2011, but unfortunatley had a blighted ovum and had to terminate the pregnancy in January 2012. For those who do not know what a blighted ovum is, it is a fertilized egg that implants in the uterus wall, develops a placenta and amniotic fluid but for unknown reasons a baby does not form. After getting past the pain of this my husband and I tried again and conceived in March 2012, we are now 22 weeks along and expecting a baby boy. Sometimes the anxiety of wanting to try can hinder your ability to get pregnant. Try not to stress, although I know how hard that can be. Start keeping track of your cycles and ovulation, start having intercourse every other day for a week prior to your expected ovulation and for a few days after (just in case calculations are off). This really helped my husband and I alleviate anxiety and worked great for us. I wish you the best of luck!!

Yeah I will try those things. It just isnt like me to be soo sentimental...i start crying over nothing all of a sudden. I guess I really got my hopes up. And I hope it is implantation bleeding because its very light today and usually before I start my period I get cramps a day before, but not this time. I only had cramps on day 1. So I still got hope. Im feeling muxh better I am really not feeling like myself this just started yeaterday. But thanks for responding @Yvonne, I really appreciate it.

Geny, dont lose hope dear. First, it could have been too soon for the testing and your period maybe not have been a real period but implanation, which occurs at the same time. You can not get depressed, as this will take a toll on your body and not function how you want it to. Preseed is good, I used it but i am not if i got pregnant from it or not even though I did get pregnant after using it. You can also try B6, Robotissan regular, using a ovulation thermo. There are a few things you can try that can help. But losin ghope and being depressed isnt one of them.

Well I took a test on the 7th wich was NEG. got my period the following day on the 8th but its already going away wich is weird cause usually it lasts around 5 days. Its so frustrating... this month im planning to start something new. I would like to know if any of you ladies tried this before and got pregnant. I heard Mucinex a few days before ovulation to increade cervical mucus

@geny that's good wait a week and test w first morning urine. if u get your cycle try this site called fertility friend and there's another called countdown to pregnancy. these two sites helped me along w ovulation kits and temping every morning.. fingers crossed for you.

my experience with the depo was a bit of extraordinary one where it took me 2 years after my last shot to get pregnant!!! no periods for that whole time and was told by my doctor that it was a long shot that i would be able to have a baby BUT i am a proud mum to a wee boy please dont stop tying if it dosent happen straight away good things take time :)

My last shot was in January 2012 was due for the next one April 18th. Did not go because we are ttc. After 2 montgs of no period i de ided to start Vitex, got my period 2 weeks after starting it on July 4th. We've been trying all month for babby so I am hoping it worked. I have been feeling a bit nauseated, and my nipples are slightly sore, also ive been having to go pee like crazy and sometimes is just a little bit. I am waiting to test because i hate how disappointed a Neg can be. What do you ladies think my chances are???

I got pregnant about 3 months after stopping my shots...so pretty much i just got pregnant instead of getting my shot. lol. the one thing i can say about it is that it does take a while for your body to get rid of the water weight before gaining the baby weight. because i didnt wait that long between the two it was harder for me to get rid of the baby weight afterward. it probably didnt help that i didnt really do anything active either, though. my personal advice, if you dont want to work extra hard to get off the excess weight after the birth, is to get back into a good weight first...then work on getting pregnant.

Soft cups u insert them like a tampon but not really, they have it at Walmart by the padsand such.... the lub is Preseed I got mine from Walgreen and the B6 u can get from Walgreen or Walmart.

@Kiyuana.... dont try to get pregnant just relax with it hun. I know this is easier said than done as I was trying so hard to get pregnant by a certain time(Fathers Day), which I did, but after I had gave up and lost hope, my husband had left for Fla during my ovulation period and i just knew i was out of luck, but long and behold, i didnt get my cycle the next month and here I am. There are things you can try such as, Softcups, temping w a ovulation therom, theres also a special lub you can get, B6 does something too... @Stefani dont be freaked out as far as the Depo, dont be scared. everyone is different. It took a year with my youngest and 11mos for this one. I am now 7weeks pregn, after stopping depo in July 2011.

I was on the Depo for about 4 years. I was suppose to get another shot in January of 2009, i didnt really think about the consequences of unprotected sex and i got pregnant after my first period in September 2009. I now have a 2 year old son. Me and my husband are trying for our second and im in the same boat, i was suppose to get my last depo shot in january 2012 but i didnt get it but was put on the mirena IUD. I have gotten the mirena removed in june 2012 and now we are trying unprotected and without birth control. Im hoping it works just like before and i get pregnant around september/october.

I was on the depo shot and missed one shot and was pregnant almost two weeks later with twins I had them and put the IUD in had to take in out in November the started depo shot in feb got pregnant in march while still on my crazy month long period I am 12 wks along with no signs of being pregnant its weird the depo works differently on different people I know a lady that took the shot and got pregnant almost immediately not intentional at all so just give it time u will get pregnant just stop trying to its when ur not worrying about getting pregnant that u get pregnant the more u try the more stress the more likely u won't get pregnant

I was on Depo at the age of 16 until 18 and a half. I got pregnaunt after only one month of being off of it. Yet my body rejected the prenancy only after 4.5 to 5 months. I freaked out I had no idea why. If I would have taken the time to think about it I would have realized the depo may not have been out of my system. Right after the miscarriage the doctors waited a couple of weeks until I had a regular menstral cycle and put me on the Mirena right away. Now I'm 23 wishing I would have tried again. I'm not sure if this was any help for you but It will take some time. Keep your head up!

Sadly, no I am still not pregnant. My cycle just sorta regulated itself as of March 2012, but it ranges from 20,25, and 31 days. My luteral phase appears to only be 10 days, which for most women is 14 days. I been trying green tea, OPK, and BBT, and still nothing as of yet. I now know I am ovulating but dont know if its happening every month. Hang in There! I know all about the impatient mind, I told my husb that after June I was done trying.

Hello, I was on the depo shot after I had my first daughter to help control my blood pressure. I was on it for 9 months, went off of it in September 2011. I didn't get my period until January 2012, and have been trying to get pregnant ever since. I know it takes a while to get out of your system, but it is now May 2012, and I am becoming very impatient! I know it says when you posted this it was March of 2011, have you gotten pregnant yet? If so, how long did it take you to get pregnant? Also, I am 27 years old, so I'm still younger, and I am not extremely heavy, but I am not a stick either. Thank you in advance!

i can definitely understand your situation. but the only way anyone can truely plan for exatly when a pregnancy will happen is with ivf or insemination.. if you and your husband are really wanting to try for abother baby(boy) then you should do it. it will happen when its meant to. so if you set your goals and then fall pregnant then just know it was meant to be. goals can be changed and adjusted depending on what happens in your life as they arent set in stone. if you really dont want to change your goals then i would sit down and talk with your husband about it and maybe wait to try till you are done with school and what ever else your goals are..

babies are a blessing and you will only be given the chance of having one if the time is right.. i got soo frustrated in my situation cause it took 6 years of waiting so we continued to try and just kept the attitude of " it will happen when its supposed to and in the meantime we will just keep living our lives."

Thanks Amanda, I understand however theres other things I'm trying to do like finishing school and start my career. I already have two kids, but wanted to try for a boy, butnot at the cost of a baby coming uexpectedly. I just dont know what to do. My husband wants to continue to try, meanwhile I have set goals for myself and dont want to get off track. Help!!!!

i got 2 depo shots and got off or it due to the massive weight gains. it took me almost 6 years to get pregnant and that ended in miscarriage and then two months later i got pregnant with my beautiful b/g twins who are now 7 months old. so just be patient and dont stress about getting pregnant as that can make it harder to concieve as well. good luck to you!

I too was on depo. I was on it for 10 yrs after my oldest and took me 1 yr to get pregnant. I have since gotten off depo in July 2011 hoping to be pregnant by Christmas. I still have no cycle, I dont know if or when I ovulate. Starting in November I started getting symtoms of pregnancy and it was nothing. Its now December and the symptoms are back and still another negative. I love how ppl can get pregn while on it, but takes forever for those getting off of it.

I was on depo for 3 years and my doctor actually said to me.. you should not have been on it that long i was actually appalled that no one told me it shouldnt be long term! however i did get pregnant within a year so hang in there it will happen, but it does take time. I would suggest talking to your doctor as with all birthcontrols there are side effects. I used a uid (mirena) only to find out that it causes migraines and can cause scar tissue that makes being pregnant hard too.. unfortunately there always a cost and effect i wish you the best of luck, and hang in there! :)

I was on depo for 3 years the first time, and it took 2.5 years after that before I finally got pregnant. After my daughter was born, I went back on it because, let's face it, I HATE having a period! I was on it for a year before my fiance and I decided it wasn't doing my hormones any good, so I got off and we started using condoms. It took 9 months to start getting a period again, and another year after stopping ANY protection to get pregnant again. After this baby comes, I'm getting a tubal!!!!!

I stopped depro thinking I needed a couple of years for it to exit my body. 4 months after being off I got pregnant. I really do think that it affects everyone differently so just hang in there and your day will come :)

I was on the Depo needle for 7 months or so after my son was born and it took me six months to fall pregnant with my second. I was so upset that it was taking so long (even though thats a normal time frame to fall pregnant) because I fell pregnant with my son out of no where (he wasnt planned - SURPRISE). After this one is born I will not be going back on it because we are are thinking we may have a 3rd. Good Luck!!

I was on depo for just over a year, and it took us about 2 years to get preg. Our first preg, though, ended in miscarriage. Not sure it's linked, but from what I hear, it's not uncommon for first pregnancies after depo to end up being miscarriages. However, now we have 2 healthy boys and another baby on the way. I stopped taking depo in Feb. 2010 but got on the pill. I stopped taking the pill in June 2010 and got pregnant in Aug. 2010. Not sure if this helps you but I was only on depo for about 2 yrs before I stopped.

Here is my story not sure it will help but it may. I started the depo shoot in Feb 2010. I had 3 shoots total. My drive for sex dropped and I started getting depressed. One side affect that I had it may be TMI but I will share. When I started the depo. I was a D for my breast size, (not something I wanted to get any bigger that is for sure.) By the 3 shoots I had grown to FF. let me tell you I hate it so I called the doctor and had told her what was going on. She suggested that I stop and be off of anything for 6 months to a year. I was off of the depo for about 6 - 7 months I got prego in June 2010. We were not trying but did not prevent it from happing, every time. I wanted at least one more baby my hubby was unsure. but here we are due in about 2 weeks or so. Good luck and talk to your Doctor. IF you know anyone who is thinking about the depo I would so tell them not to go on it. It can mess up our bodies some thing Crazy. I just wish someone would have told me. They told me about the weight gain and the salt cravings never the boobie size change. SOOOOO Not bragging I would so love to just cut them in half and share if I could. For anyone who wants them they can have them. LOL
