I tried potty training my 3 and a half year old when she was 2. She didn't seem interested so I didn't push it. Now she is 3 and a half and I think enough is enough she needs to potty train. The thing is it's getting very frustrating. We've only been doing it 3 days but she just won't go. She'll put underwear on in the morning, but everytime I sit her on the potty she won't go. She'll litterally hold it till she ether pees herself in the afternoon or I put a diaper on her for bedtime in which case that results in her filling 2 diapers up at night. I refuse to go back to her wearing diapers all the time. She's old enough now to be going on the potty. My SIL told me about putting a timer on every 30 mins then setting her on the potty. I even brought her potty downstairs. Does anyone else have other ideas I could try in case this doesn't work? Another thing is she hasn't pooped since we started potty training. Any suggestions?

I gave my kids a piece of chocolate everytime they went in the potty. My daughter learned real quick and my son is in the process. If they didn't go, they didn't get a piece, if they did we sang the potty song (just a made up song) and they got a big girl/ boy piece of choco. Also with pooping, find something she REALLY wants and tell her once she goes poo in the potty that will be her treat. The potty song really does help. Also something fun for her to look at in the bathroom is good too. Make it fun, or a game that's what worked for us also... and have patience. It's hard for you I know but when she does have an accident don't make a big deal out of it just clean it up and tell her this is what we do in the potty, end of story. don't give up though, she can do it!!!
