Was just wondering whether you are supposed to use you last menstrual period date or the ultrasound dates to work out when you are due

Both dates are guesstimates! My period date was 10 days sooner than my ultrasound date. Normally if they're less than a week apart or so they're not going to even change things. Just know that these dates are just guidelines to measure your care and when to "expect" your little one. Plus, the ultrasound dates can change I'm now measuring 8 days earlier than the 1st two ultrasound dates. But we haven't changed anything. It's just good to know she's growing and doing well. Good luck!

Ultrasound dates are 2 - 3 weeks out with me. With my little girl i thought i was 13 weeks when i went for a scan but they told me i was 10, but i knew that wasnt right as i had felt her move for a week prior to going. Go by your own instincs. I use my dates. Scan dates are only + or - 1 to 2 weeks

they go by your first scan they will measure the babies head length and how he/she has developed.

My doctor used a date that was between the two numbers but I didn't get my first scan until I was 4 and a half months pregnant so the number was not as accurate. I would say to go with whichever date is latest because when you get near the end you're just praying for that day to come and if it's a little farther away it might help you stay calm and focused longer.

you go by the date they told you at the scan, they know what they are doing. they can tell by the growth of your baby

mine worked out a day apart, and he was early so who know which day was right, but i think the ultrasound is more acurate, as they measure the baby!

you should get an early scan before 12 weeks that they normally use for your due date, as everyones cycle is different and you may release an egg at the start of your cycle where someone else may release at the end, They can give you an approx on you LMP but an early scan is more accurate
