My son's name is Keirnan. We wanted an Irish name so went to a baby name website and just went through the names until we found something we liked!

our son is Rowan Clifford. We thought Rowan was an uncommon boys name until I started telling people what we were going to name him. But I was in love with the name so it stuck. Clifford is my dad's name.

My son's name is Escher. It's an uncommon boys name and I got it from the artist M.C. Escher.

My sons are Silas and Uriah. If you look up biblical names on google you can find some different and uncommon boy names. My eldest son is Elijah but that name has became quite common. I like the name Kaleb a lot but my husband didn't go for it.

if id of had a little boy i was going to call him William but i liked the name Farley. My cousin called her sons Simeon and Fabien. I think boys names are harder than girls to be honest.

My son's name is Izaiyah Etron. It is pronounced Isaiah like in the Bible but spelled differently. His Dad came up with Etron.

I have one son named Reese and another named Jude Jaxson. I also love the names Maximus and Ace.

I wouldn't do Edward, with Twilight and the rest of those books Edward is not gonna be a very uncommon name for boys born in this time period...

It's not a bad name, just worried it would be very common in his age group. It's like when I was growing up seemed like every 5th girl was a Jennifer (I'm exaggerating a little, but I have like 3 or 4 friends named Jennifer or some variant on the theme. Says the woman who named her son Christopher, lol!)

One of my nephews is named Julius, which is an uncommon boys name. His middle name is even more unusual- Takoja. It's a Native American word that I think she told me means grandchild if I remember correctly- his grandfather is 100% Native American so she wanted him to have a name that honors that heritage.

Also, try looking for older names that just aren't common any more, or biblical names that aren't as popular. (just don't name the poor kid Zerububel or something like that. Some bible names are a little rediculous!) I liked the surname idea. Holbrook, Grey, Chace, Hadley, Tennant (sorry, Dr. Who fan, had to do it!), Walsh, Fabian, Ashton, Quentin, Emerson, Paddock, Kendall and Tanner are all last names that might sound cool as first names. You can go to a last name listing and spend hours getting good ideas.

As for us, our son has a very common boys name, Christopher, but it's a family thing. I'm considering a rather unusual name if I have a girl someday though- Liberty. It's pretty and we could call her Libby for short :D

Good luck finding the PERFECT name!

We just named our bay Stanley after an uncle - Sometimes if you look at your family tree there is a relatives name that was once popular but you never hear now.

I love the name Yehshua which is the Hebrew way for Jesus...There are many many ways to spell it though. We named our first son Mitchell Aldan Roland...I find if you go with great grandparents and even greater ones, the names become more unique and even more sentimental. My sons first name (Mitchell) is my husband's great grandfather his first middle name (Aldan) is my great grandfather's name and Roland was my best friend who died the day I found out I was pregnant. All of his initials spell out Marc which is my dads name...So I just took some family names and made them unique...Hope this helps!!
