Hello! My name is Ashley My daughter Madisyn was born with a port wine stain on the left side of her face. It is a type of vascular birthmark. I started a group and so far I have not found anyone to join. I am looking for moms aunt grandmas... any women related to someone with a vascular birthmark. The dr told me 1 in 1000 are born with a port wine stain but I have yet to find anyone!

My daughter is also having hers removed. I think she started having it removed in March. Insurance fought it at first but they are paying for it. Madisyns is lightening up and her Dr said it should be 80 to 90 percent gone. Her port wine stain doesn't bug me at all but like you said I don't think she will liek it when she is older. I am glad I found someone because I haven't met anyone who has one so it is just nice to have someone to talk to.

I'll be happy to join, my daughter has a large port wine stain covering her upper arm and some on her chest, it doesn't really bother me anymore but I know it probably will her so we are in the process of getting it removed, which isn't likely to be removed but at least it will be lightened!
