Very sick little boy! Please help!!

Everyone is talking about the rub on the feet and believe me, it works. I do it myself when I am sick. The other thing is to make sure he is getting plenty of fluids especially if he is throwing up or has diarrhea. Definitely don't want him dehydrated. Watch his temp and follow your gut. If you feel he should be seen by a doctor, by all means, take him in. Better safe than sorry.

i would definitely get him to the dr. my son had a terrible cold like that a few months ago and the yucky eyes. i ended up taking him to the e.r. cause he was so sick and they immediatley put him on augmentin and said the crusty eyes were from a double ear infection...i wouldnt try to doctor him at home.....thats what i tried and it didnt work..hope he feels better:)

Thanks for the tips guys. Ive done pretty much all of them. He hasn't had a fever at all, but I plan on getting him into the doctor tomorrow. I have a steam humidifier thing but there isn't anywhere to put it in his room out of his reach. But i put a cool air humidifier on his dresser (its smaller then the steam one so it sits further back so he cant reach it).

steam treatment in the bathroom with the shower running hot and door closed while patting his back and chest like burping to help bring up the congestion and saline spray and nasal aspirator(blue sucky bulb from hospital) to suck it all out! My daughters 3 and I've used that every cold, never anything else and it always works.

the vaper rub on his feet does work just put socks on him before he goes to sleep. and you do not need to buy a steam pot, boil water in a pasta pot and then put a towel over his head over the water breath in for ten minutes and then blow or suck out his nose.

I would try a steam treatment or humidifer as well as vic's vabor rubs.. If it doesn't get better after trying those you should take him to the dr. The good sign is he is getting plenty of fluids. That will be the doctors concern

try putting vick's vapor rub on the soles of his feet...I'm not sure why this works but my mom always did it for us when we were stuffed up and my sisters and I all do it for our children too...it works 10x better than on the chest and the smell doesn't bother them nearly as much!

Steam treatment - you can buy electronic ones or just use bowls of hot water (in safe location) or wet towels on radiators or just steam from the shower. Helps unblock sinuses. Can put menthol in the hot water to release vapours. Also Vicks rubbed on chest is very good. Wipe eyes with clean wet cotton wool. How high is his temperature? Perhaps you should take him to the doctor if he is really bad and can't eat. Ice lollys/ frozen fruit juice are good if he has a sore throat. Also you could give him anything he might manage to eat - like chocolate.
