I am wanting to get a tattoo that has something to do with my two sons. I need some Ideas. I am getting the tattoo on my shoulder and I do not want it to big. I thought about the footprints but undecided. Help!

for my kids i have something to do with the month they were born or season they were born with their names under it...my son's is a snow flake with a snowman face in the middle and his name on the bottom...my daughters will be a pumpkin and some leaves with her name under it.

Have you thought of an ambigram? I love them. I have an ambigram of my two children's names. It says "Richard" one way, and when you flip it upside down, it reads as "Penelope".

I currently have two butterflies on my lower stomach (one on each side by my hip bones - one is purple and blue for me and the other one is orange and red for my hubby) and they are connected with intertwining vines and leaves. As soon as I get the extra money saved up I am getting three little butterflies tucked in among the vines and leaves for my three daughters. The first little one will be pink for my 7 year-old, the second one will be purple for my 23 month-old and the last one will be pastel green and yellow for my 7 month-old. I know this design would be kinda hard on the shoulder blade, but maybe the butterflies or something like that would work for you. I personally choose to not get any names (when my hubby and I are getting intimate does he really want to look at our kid's names on me?), but I love the butterflies and they have always been kinda like my spiritual symbol.
by the way, instead of going with traditional butterfly wings, I looked up wing designs by my favorite artist, Amy Brown, and copied some wings off her fairies that I really liked. The wings I chose for my butterfly are very swirly and delicate while the wings for my hubby's butterfly are more ragged (he's had a very rough life). I am still choosing wings for the little ones, but they will all be different to represent their different personalities.

If you have their footprints from birth, take those in and get their EXACT foot or hand print done. I have one boy and one girl and I decided against that, because i wanted more color than just black. For my daughter, I have an outline of a footprint with toes and all in magenta, and fading inward with bubblegum pink with her name accross it a little under the toes. My sons is the same, except opposite and in blue, a little lower and beside it. I did it this way, so if I have more kids, I can easily add on. I have footprints going down my right shoulder!

I'm doing my son's zodiac signs. As one is a leo and the other is a scorpio, it'll be easy to separate who's is who. As far as the footprints, that could get rather large to show the detail. I think most import should be that it's something that is important and has meaning for you.

I allso have my boys name with stars around it!! I love stars i got them on my foot and im going to be adding my daughters name to it so it kinda goes with the boys! i like the stars with kids because they are my shining stars!

I like tribal so I have my oldest daughters name whom is 11 on my right upper arm with tribal around it and my twins who are 6 on my lower back with tribal so go with what u like and what u can live with after all it is permanant

a tattoo is something so personal...take the time to decide what you REALLY want; even if it takes you years to do so. Once you find the right idea you'll know; then go ahead and get it...

My husband gets our son´s hands tattooed on his arm in about two weeks. He got handprints ftrom our kids for that. And their names underneath the hands.

I have a tatoo on my left ankle. it s both of my son's first and middle names going around and a bracelet conected by footprints. I typed their names over and over in different fonts in word untill I found the lettering I liked. I have pics of it on my profile.
The footprint idea is a great one, I wish I would have thought about that.

Well my friend got her 2 childrens names on her sholder in cute writting and shaded blue for her boy and shaded pink for her girl and had a crown hanging on her sons name and a tiara on her daughters its cute i got my 3 kids names and my husbands around my ankle like an anklette.

i have my son's handprint on my right forearm...the foot print is done by everyone and i wanted something different. you would not believe all the compliments and people are shocked when they find out that it's my son's real hand print. i am pregnant with my second child, also a boy and i will be taking the heartbeat/contractions graph from the hospital and getting that for his tattoo....hope it helps!

I have my son's initials "LL" with the outline of a heart next to it behind my right ear and I absolutely LOVE it! It's simple and small but it's really nice too. My fiance is getting our son's name "Lacoda Lee" on his ribs with his handprints above it and his footprints below it and his birthdate inbetween the handprints
