My son is one year old and has slept through the night since he was 3 mos...until now. He wakes up at least once every night and all he wants is a bottle. I am trying to wean him from it and he is down to just one bottle at bedtime, except for his midnight feedings. I realize he is teething and that is what wakes him up, but nothing will put him back to sleep except for a warm bottle. Shoud I start giving him a sippy cup instead? Should I give him warm milk instead of formula? Right now he gets 4oz of formula and 2oz of milk per bottle. I just want my quiet baby back that would sleep 12 hours undisturbed!!

if it consoles him why take it away? children are consoled by sucking (at the bottle, breast, pacifier, thumb, and so on) so what's the harm in letting him do what he needs to do to satisfy his sucking need?

if you think it's because he is teething try rubbing vanilla extract on his gums it will lessen the pain. here's a link concerning natural teething remedies: http://www.naturemoms.com/natural-teethi...

good luck!!

Try teething tablets at bedtime or when he wakes up. I hated giving my son tylenol everytime he was teething. Also try a sippy with warm water, or watered down milk. My son was using a only a sippy by the time he was one. When transitioning use the soft nippled ones and at bedtime, it more like a bottle. hope I helped some...

I'm sort of in the same place as you are. My daughter is 15 months and she gets a bottle at nap time and bed time. She sleeps through the night (usually 12 hours), but I don't want her to need her bottle to go to sleep. I have the bad feeling that it's all about cutting the bottle out all together. Good luck to you!
