What are Gerber puffs and where can i get them? are they ok for my 8 month old son?

Gerber's Puffs are life savers!!! My two kids ate them all the time!!! They are made from corn and come in corn, sweet potato, apple, and strawberry banana flavored. I got mine at Wal-Mart, but I know the grocery stores have them too.

They are next to the baby food. There is a whole bunch of gerber snacks all with their own developmental level. Just read the back of the container and if your son is able to do all the things listed he's ready. Puffs dissolve pretty easily and are safe for 6 months and up. He's probably also ready for the yogurt things and they have these baby cheeto things as I like to call them. My daughter loved those.

Hey Stefanie, Puffs are the new wave of cereal for babies. They are get and have fruit in them. you can get these from anywhere you can find baby food. They even taste good.

You can gerber puffs at Target, or Walmart or any grocery store. They are wonderful! They're really great for a snack and come in great flavors. My daughter loved them!

GERBER PUFFS ARE FRUIT AND VEGGIE LIKE CEREAL TYPE STUFF AND THEY DISSOLVE IN BABIES MOUTHS AND MY KIDS WERE EATING THEM AT 4 MONTHS U CAN GET THEM BASICALLY AT ANY GROCERY STORE OR STORE THAT SELLS BABY FOOD

Babies R Us (if there is one local to you, also some products available online) offers a line of fairly similar products, that are all natural and safe, no added nothing. If you're uncomfortable with risks - you may look into those brands.
Overall speaking, what in this world these days is NOT 'dangerous' to us in some way or another?

I have never bought my son any foods that are marketed towards babies/toddlers. So much of that food is so processed. Here's an interesting article I found a little while back that you should check out...

For puff-like finger food snacks, my son really likes puffed wheat/kamut, and broken up unsalted multigrain rice cakes.

Look where the baby food is! Gerber has a large assortment of more than just the puffs that are very good, healthy, & safe for 6 months+.
If you are comfortable with your child sitting up on his own, and swallowing - then he'll do fine. They basically melt in your mouth, therefore making choking nearly impossible! If he has a couple teeth, absolutely. 8 months I say it's a definite go and you may even find some others! They have little puffs, we used to get tomato basil? Something along those lines. They look like little cheetos! They are also by Gerber, and same concept - dissolve in their mouth. My daughter STILL loves them! If she's picky on her veggies, I give her some "big girl cereal" as she refers to them now, so she's still getting those nutrients & vitamins! They come in a yellow, plastic with blue lid, 'curvy' jar --- much similar to the size of a regular Pringles chip canister. :) The 'cheeto' like puffs are in a shorter, wider canister.

They're totally to give him if he sits up by himself and holds things inbetween his thumb and fore finger. My daughter is 8 months and she started eating them a few weeks back. Go to Babies R Us and you can get a 3 pack that saves a bit of money.

you can get them in the baby food section at the grocery store. They are great!! My daughter loves them, and they have differetn steps of finger food for as your child develops. Not to mention they are full of al the good stuff little ones need

my daughter absolutly loves these! you need to try them.. they disolve in their mouth. they come in all sorts of different flavors.. sweet potato, banana, apple cinnamon. i even eat them sometimes!!! lol

My daughter Mylie loved the puffs and as long as your child is sitting up on thier own the puffs are great you can get them in the baby aisle of almost any store

I loved Gerber puffs when my kids were babies. They're basically just these little corn star puffs about the size of Cheerios that dissolve in their mouths. They don't really have to chew on them so if they don't have teeth it's fine. I started mine on them when they were about 8 months. They're great for teaching them how to feed themselves. They come in all kinds of different flavors & you can get them at any grocery store where the baby food is.

They're basically just puffed up cereal that dissolves pretty easily and is easy to chew. You can give them to your son if he's able to sit up on his own and tries to chew. At least that's the recommendation on the bottles. I always just picked them up at Walmart in the baby food section.

Gerber puffs are the new cheerios!! They're made with real fruit and veggies and actually desolve making them easier to eat. My lil' one started eating Puffs around 6 months old

so your lil' one shouldn't have a problem. You can find them almost anywhere... Safeway, Walmart, FredMyers, Target...
