Posting games are good, make a slit in a box and cut some card up. Babies like playing with natural stuff, pegs, wooden spoons and saucepans, curtain rings etc, just nothing too small that they could choke on.

my son gets bored pretty easy. I normally give him non-toy items like boxes, and papers to tear up (yea, i know...its messy) but it keeps him busy for a while. Just earlier, i let him play with his high chair in the living room while me and my bf were watching tv and it kept him busy for a good while (we have a highschair that just sits on a regular chair)...and i've even let my son color. The other night we played "credit card"...i got the cards out of my purse (and kept a good eye on them) like my cc's and drivers license and he would hand them to me and i would hand them back...maybe try making him a fort with couch pillows? I have to get pretty creative now-a-days too.

my one year old likes the basic games. peek a boo, patty cake, and of course his favorite is tickle time. you can also put on some music and dance he loves that too. He also likes to play ball which he is not very good at but he still has fun. they are pretty easy to entertain most of the time.
