Why do you use it? Price? Ingredients? Availability? Do you use organic? I feel guilty if I don't use organic but it is so much more expensive and there is not much of a variety.

With my first we used jarred, usually Heinz. While preg with my second, I was in a group called The Healthy Baby Club. We were shown how to make our own food, very easy, and we tasted the difference. Ever wonder why your baby doesn't like jarred peas? Taste them! YUCK!! The stuff you make tastes so much better! Basically, you boil the veggies/fruits in a little bit of water, puree it in a food processor, put it in ice cube trays till it's frozen then portion it out! Very simple. Depending on how much you make at a time, it can be time consuming, but the reaction to what you make is SOOO much better then the jars! I'm sure any mom who makes their own will agree with that! Plus, you will know exactly what you are putting in their little belly!

i use the beachnut. they have a lot more selection than any other baby food. i dont like heinz i find it way too watery and they dont have a big selection. i have never used organic (i have my own opinon on organic things) and my son is super healthy. he loves the beachnut, the only thing he didnt like was the beachnut cereal. other than that i never came across any of it that he didnt like!

The baby food that i do use is Gerber. I only use it sometimes when i don't have time because i try to blend my own vegetables I feel that's better and less expensive too but only if you really have time. A friend told me that you can blend it and you can but it in little containers and freeze them and take one out a day so they last longer. I haven't tried that but it might work why not.

Quoting Samantha:

I make my daughters baby food. its super easy, really healthy and im sure it taste a whole lot better too. I spend like one day every 2 weeks making all the food. i freeze it so i can just pull out what i need when i need it and nothing goes to waste. for freezing the food, i use things called baby cubes that i got at babies r us. they are little containers with lids that are the perfect serving size and they come with a tray to put them in so they stand up in the freezer.

Thats what we did too and I totally love how easy it was! :)  We used to put our food in ice cube trays and then pop them out and store them in freezer bags.

Have you thought about making your own? Its super easy and economical. Check out www.wholesomebabyfood.com to get the specifics. For instance, to buy Gerber baby food sweet potatoes it was approximately 24 cents an ounce. But to make my own sweet potato baby food, it was 8 cents and ounce. Plus I think it just looks fresher and tastes better than the jar stuff. However when certain things were out of season (like peaches) I just bought Gerber. hope this helps :)

I go for price. All brands of baby food are made from the same things, just different brand names. Organic if you can find it, but I don't feel bad if I don't spend the extra on it.

Make your own. I made my own baby food for my son. With my daughter we bought Gerber, but then I realized it's a lot cheaper just to puree the food we were eating and feed it to our son. There is a site that explains how to make your own food, I can't remember what it is, but I can look it up and get back with you.
