I am just curious to see what are the best diapers and wipes for your babies(y). Also, I think it will help some of the new moms that have no clue which brand to get for their baby, decide on a brand to try.

I personally like the Huggies diapers and wipes. The best so far. I found that the Pampers diapers would leak a lot more than the Huggies (for my son anyway) and the wipes seemed really flimsy to me. When my son had a blowout, I would have to stack two Pampers wipes to get it strong enough to get the tar-like substance off of him. The same with the Costco brand wipes. What are your opinions? What works best for you?

Well I tend to be the person who goes for whatever is cheapest but I have tried a number of brands. For my daughter, Huggies gave her a terrible rash - and she had never had a diaper rash with any other diaper so.... I like Luvs a lot. 1. they are inexpensive. 2. they are slim on her as well as packing them in the diaper bag. 3. they smell nice. 4. they have never leaked on me. As far as wipes go, I haven't tried too many different types; just Huggies and Costco. The Huggies wipes worked fine but I didn't like the scent - I think it was a type that had aloe or something. The Costco ones work fine for us. I recently bought some Luvs wipes but haven't used them yet. They were way cheep though and being that I am using them to clean up poo, the cost is what counts for me. If there is a brand that is three times less expensive, then I don't mind that I am using two of them vs. one of a more expensive brand.

Huggies diapers all the way. I like the Costco wipes. They are longer and can cover the cannon while wiping. As for the tar, if you put vaseline on his clean butt, it will come right off

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind when it comes time to have baby #2!!!

I just wanted to say I have noticed several moms in this thread talking about how nice the diapers that they like smell. Please, PLEASE keep in mind that IF your child has sensitive skin, the fragrance may make your child break out!!! Just wanted to put that out there for some of the new moms that may not realize that.

Please continue! I am finding it interesting what each and every one of you has to say!

I loved Huggies. My daughter is 2 now, and I still use Huggies pullups along with their wipes. I did try other brands but they did not agree with her too much. I know pampers liked a lot, and I also tried Luvs which were a disaster. But, its all up to you but I am a huge HUGGIES fan

Huggies are ok, but they tend to leak!! Pampers have never leaked on Rylie!! She is allergic to all wipes but Huggies!! Pampers wipes if they are sensitive!! She can use those!! Pampers are the best diapers out there!! In my opinion, I have a little girl! Some say that Huggies are better for boys????

Pampers is what I've used for all three of my children. Huggies was ok and they didn't leak through too much in them, I just preferred the fit better with pampers. As far as the wipes go, I agree pampers was a lot thinner, but my youngest daughter has to have them because I've tried switching her and the poor thing breaks out with any other brand. I have switched to the pampers swipers. They are thicker.

Honestly my first child I was Huggies and only Huggies, Second Child was Pampers and only Pampers, my 3rd well as we are struggling with this fabulous economy my finances are limited so ive had to resort to trying store brands and I have found that both Walmart and Target store brand diapers work equally awesome, however on the wipes I prefer Target cause they are much softer.

[deleted account]

I use Cozy Kids brand diapers and wipes for my kids. The wipes are ultra sensative and strong and scent free. The diapers I liked better than Huggies. Pampers didn't work for my kids very well, they seemed to leak for both my kids. If you are interested in trying Cozy Kids brand diapers and wipes you can find them online from amway global or quixtar.com

I like LUVS. I also like Huggies however, LUVS is more affordable, works very well on odor, and I never had leaking with LUVS. (Huggies I have as well as Pampers). I use Parent Choice from Walmart for wipes. They are thicker, more durable, and affordable too. I don't like Huggies or Pampers wipes, they are too thin for my liking. I buy the parent Choice wipes in bulk, and I use about one to two wipes each time I change my daughter. It grabs EVERYTHING!

I can't figure out how to quote someone, but this is for the woman who said she thought Pampers gives money to planned parent hood. I totally agree with you, I do not believe in that organization other then they do help pregnant women, not only women who want abortions. Anyway, Pampers actually gives money to UNICEF which is a company that makes vaccines. The children in Africa and other countries that can't afford the vaccines that all our children get, Pampers give money to this company so they can supply vaccines to children over there. They say "1 bag of pampers equals 1 vaccine for a child." I tried looking up that info and I would really like it if someone could find out if they do give money to planned parent hood also. Thanks

I tried looking for it, but Planned Parenthood removed the list of companies that donate money to them. Probably b/c a lot of the companies were complaining about boycotts. I'll try to keep researching it and let you know what I find.

And I knew about the vaccine thing.. That's good. I just don't like it when baby product companies donate to a place that performs any abortions (kind of ironic, don't you think?).. But I'll keep looking and if I find anything, I'll post it here.

My baby does best with Pampers because Huggies leaked for him. I think it depends on the baby's shape and how different diaper brands fit, so it's trial and error. We tried a cheaper brand, Teddy's Choice maybe?... but they were horribly stiff and annoying because the flaps would tear when I checked the diaper but wanted to do it back up if it was dry. I swore I wouldn't get another bag again. haha Another cheap brand might be fine but I don't feel like wasting the money if it turns out to be crappy again. The pampers swaddlers are convenient for newborns because they don't pee so much at a time so it's harder to tell if they're wet but those diapers have a yellow strip down the front that turns blue when the diaper is wet. Handy. However, I wish the Huggies worked better for me because I'm told Pampers gives money to Planned Parenthood and I don't like that organization.

Aw, that stinks that Huggies didn't work for your baby.. However, I am so glad you mentioned that Pampers gives money to Planned Parenthood.. I also do not care for that organization. That is very helpful, as there may be some women on here that are against that organization for religious reasons (like me). Thank you for sharing that.

Keep 'em coming!!!

We prefer the huggies supreme diapers and wipes. Pampers swaddlers works well too. I tried the Pampers sensitive wipes and they were really soft. But when we have a choice and a coupon, its huggies all the way.. We hated luvs for our son because they always leaked and went up his back. Plus they didn't form good to his body like huggies!

I use Huggies. First of all I was given an ample supply of diapers at my baby shower and did not have to buy any diapers untill my daughter was 7 months old. Among these diapers I got everything from Huggies to Pampers, to Luvs, to some of the off brands. My daughter got rashes from all of the diapers except for the Huggies. I also found that they were the ones that withheld the most. As far as the wipes go, she did not seem to have any type of reaction to anything, but when I tried some of the other brands, many of them seemed to leave a lent like substance on her little bottom.

I agree I think that Huggies are by far the best brand out there- too many leaks with Pampers- there was not a diaper that my son didn't leak through when it came to Pampers even when he was a newborn.

However, I have since discovered with my newest niece who was born earlier in the year that the Kirkland brand baby diapers- are made my Huggies- if you compare the two side by side they are exactly the same material and made exactly alike- they just have little Monkey's on them instead of Mickey Mouse. I was amazed...... and for the price comparison- unbelievable...

I tried the Pampers when my daughter was a newborn and some as an infant, and they were gargage. I even tried Luvs and they would leak leave her soaked and me with a mess in the mornings.

My son was allergic to the Pampers diapers. So I switched him to Huggies diapers and wipes and had no allergy issues. He did however get frequent diaper rashes and has very sensitive skin. I ended up taking him off of sposies altogether and started using cloth diapers around 10 months old. I still use Huggies baby wipes and I've recently tried the Target Up and Up brand in the sensitive and they work really well. I prefer to use just a regular washcloth as a wipe instead. Since switching to cloth diapers, my son has had no problems with diaper rash. I LOVE cloth diapers, and if I ever have any other children, I plan on starting them on cloth diapers as soon as possible.

Ok, you are like the second or third.. Maybe fourth person that says they use cloth.. Can I ask you something? What is the best way to get the mess out before you throw it in the washer? Or do you use a diaper service? All this talk about cloth diapers and I almost want to try them..

There are a couple things you can do to get rid of the mess before putting them in the washer. You can use a diaper sprayer which you hook up to your toilet. You just spray the mess off into the toilet, flush, then throw your diaper into the wash or dipaer pail/wetbag until you wash them. Another thing you can do is use biodegradable disposable diaper liners. I use the Tiny Tush Disposable Diaper Liners which I buy from Nell's Natural Baby (http://www.nellsnaturalbaby.com/). When you use a liner, you just toss the liner into the toilet and flush. It really helps to keep the mess off of the diaper itself and make disposing of the mess  easier. I do not use a diaper sprayer, just the liners. And I only use the liners when I know my will be doing his business.

i have found that if Emma gets a little red butt going on the best thing for it is the Huggies Pure and Natural

the pampers wipes have a strong fragrance as well that bothers me if your baby(ies) are sensitive it could cause a rash

But I have a friend who swears by Luvs.
