A lot will say castor oil, spicy foods, or foods that don't mix (i.e. macaroni and cheese & hot sauce). You COULD try those, but chances of you having terrible gas while in labor, are very likely.

Try these:

-Walking (go for brisk walks whenever you can, or when at home, try to limit sitting or lying down)

-Sex (Orgasm and his seamen will trigger contractions)

-Hot raspberry teas

-Swimming (just tread in the water or gently swim back and forth)

-Massage: Lower back, between your thumb and index fingers and the muscle above

your heel and between your ankle (these are pressure points that trigger contractions)

-Nipple stimulation- this can trigger your contractions but may make them hit harder and last longer.

-Eat pineapples, kiwi or drink orange juice. (These are highly acidic fruits and can trigger contractions).

Try these, but understand...your baby will come when he/she is good and ready. I was a week overdue and for medical reasons had to be induced and STILL didn't have my child until the day after my induction. She hadn't even dropped until right before her birth. I was working full-time (in a theme park) my entire pregnancy, excluding my 39th and 40th weeks, and I tried ALL of these methods and she was perfectly content in my belly.

You never know, these methods may work for you, but don't stress your baby's arrival time...the over-stimulation you'll get from dwelling on it may cause complications and may keep him/her from coming sooner than later.

Good luck and God bless you and your baby! :)

I jst want to say tht some babies may come when they are ready but not all do. I was a little over 43weeks when my daughter was born via induction and she had already pooped inside me, lost weight, and was born with some of the same issues premies have plus more, she spent a little over 2 weeks in the NICU. 7yrs later she is healthy as a horse and you would never know there was anything wrong. I am currently 32weeks with my 2nd lil girl and I refuse to let myself go over the 40weeks. Castor oil worked for my sister in law who was on her 2nd pregnancy but do not work for my sister with her 1st pregnancy.

I walked up and down the stairs about 30 times and it worked. Or have sex and it will bring it on!

Dont! your baby will come when it is ready. Just relax and enjoy having your last few moments of some you time and spending quality time with your partner, cause it will be the last time you will have it for a while.. ; )

I really think you shouldn't do anything and wait for baby to come when he/she is ready. I say this because I tried everything but I think it might have caused complications - baby's head was at a difficult angle. I should have waited until he was ready. Here's what I did though: eating lots of pineapple, walking with one foot in the gutter, reflexology (massage pressure points on hands and ankles), and of course, numerous sex things that I don't need to go into :)

sex helps but you would have to orgasm though...the orgasm causes the uterus to contract and nipple stimulation also helps. the night I went into labor i stimulated my nipples and had sex twice, all to go into labor and it worked

You can walk alot. Also try accupressure, It helps bring on contractions. And of coarse there is always sex.

You could try raspberry leaf tea. It is a natural tea that some people swear that it helps to bring on labour.

i tried everything and nothing worked, walking up and down stairs, doing the Wii fit (hula hoops and step ariobics) going for the long walk around the block, but as soon as i stopped trying and just relaxed i went into labor.

well I ate tons of pineapple and spicy food, walked a couple miles everyday, had plenty of sex and laid for a while afterwords to let it soften the cervix and nothing worked.. about 2 days prior I was bitten by fire ants and the night i went into labor I drank some prune juice and not even a half hour later my water broke.. so i kknow prune juice is nasty but apparently babies dont like it and wanna come out. Good luck though!

i have heard evening primrose oil capsuls work. you insert 2 pills close to your cervix at night time, then the will disolve over night. just a natural way, other than that sex.

with my 3rd child the doctor told me to go home and have sex, it softens the cervix, and allows the baby to move down.

How to go into labor faster:

Spicy food can bring on gallstone attacks and bad gas.

Castor oil does not work, but can make you have the poops.

Nipple stimulation may help you dilate.

Most doctors or midwives will tell you sex because of semen.

Walking is good for you to stay healthy and may help you dilate.

My water broke when I was sleeping...and over a week overdue...so your body will let you know when it is time...and your baby will too! :)

Dont try anything that has the possibility of making you uncomfortable for being 9 months preggo is uncomfortable enough.

I tried practically everything (not castor oil b/c the baby can pass meconium in utero and that is VERY bad for them) and I still had 2 have a c/s...................

i had the same problem with my baby, but she was very stuborn and nothing i did worked, my labour would start but then it would slowly fade. i was taking roseberry leaves, you can buy it from a health food store it comes as leaves so you drink it as a tea or you can buy it as a tablet form, i got the tablets. also i would run as fast as i could and for as long as i could, it hurt, i got an exersize ball and my partner pushed quite hard on my sholders to bounce me, sit ups, star jumps really hot bath, my mum told me gin does it to. camermile tea, it relaxes your body and can put you into labour. i tried all of thoes. maybe give it a go you never know it might work for you. i have a horse and i was gona saddle him up coz i had just had enough i went to get my saddle out of my mums shed coz i keeped him at my mums place and she locked me in the shed, she wouldn't let me out coz she was scared the baby would get hurt. mums can be funny sometimes. well good luck anyway. i hope you find something that works for you.

With my first two, all I had to do was go for a walk, and labor started a couple hours later. With my twins however, I tried EVERYTHING. I tried walking, sex, even went as low as trying castor oil, and nothing worked. Go figure since that was the only pregnancy that was really unbearable for me. So unfortunately, while some of those things can help, if ur baby isn't ready to come out, none of that will bring on labor. Good luck hun, hopefully you'll go into labor soon!!!

Go to the mall or a park or somewhere where you can do a lot of walking. Like all day. Then come home and take a warm bath.Thats what made me go into labor. Good luck!

I know it sounds weird but I was told do drive up and down bumpy roads and that can induce labor, also swimming, sex, and spicy food :) but I'm sure you've probably already heard of all this and tried it out yourself
