I would use old fashioned Vinegar and lemon with hot water. Safe fro a pregnant momma and works great, you can even put in a tiny bit of dish soap, the vinegar deoderizes the smoke smell and the smell from the vineger is gone once it dries.

I have found that Lysol Kitchen cleaner will clean anything. I used it to clean some paint my kids got on the wall and it and all the other dirt came off. (didnt realize my wall was so dirty) lol. I am a huge fan of lysol products and it works to get all kinds of stains out and disinfect. I also use Grease Lightening on very hard stains.

Any thing will clean that from walls. Mr. Clean, Pine sol etc. If you don't have time or don't want to climb then buy "Febreeze" heavey duty and just spray the whole house 2 or 3 days before your guests, and again the day before they arrive. Then you can take your time cleaning.

If the "Ex smokers" are still in the house with you - they should be cleaning the walls for you. Just my thought.

Generic bathroom cleaner (Scrubbing Bubbles) works really well! Spray it on and let it soak for a few minutes and you can wipe all that stuff off with paper towels!

sugar soap is a cleaner u buy in the supermarket. in a blue container. wont bring the bugs. something else that works like a charm is "gumption" in a round container, yellow lid from supermarket. will clean literally anything (including texta of the wall's) just use a wet cloth and apply and clean... i'd use the sugar soap 1st if just general cleaning b4 bub arrives, but for anything stubborn, use the gumption....good luck

yea i have found that i have had to buy cleaning products that have a nutural smell, ants really disgust me makes me fell like i cant keep my house tidy(i have a pretty clean hous for having a 2yo).

i have found that white vinigar and baking soda do a really good job at cleaning EVERYTHING and are non toxic for kids/animals

rebecca, you are right and the cockroaches too because it's sweet, for that reason i never use anything that smells like citrus (orange, lemon, etc,) as cleaning product -- attracts unwanted tenants :) but if she gets something lavender smelling and cleans over it, it should do the trick. the reason why i suggested paint is because my neighbor's baby loves to rub her cheeks & lick the walls so i just to be on the safe side, she had to re-paint her apartment pretty much as soon as the baby started crawling and she told me she wishes she did this before the baby came :)

im going to say that same as a few of the other ladies have said - sugar soap.

but make sure you wipe the walls down with a clean damp cloth, i have found that sugar soap brings in the ants

Oh and another thing....my grandmother used to smoke in her house, and her walls actually started turning yellow from the nicotine lol......I used to go to her house and scrub the walls with the scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner, and it would remove all of the stains and leave it smelling fresh!

wot hanna suggestd would wrk but if thts not possible or is just to overboard for u just a damn gud clean wif sugersoap or creamcleanser will do the trick... i am renting so can neva b sure if sum1 has smoked in the house .....

um, regular cleaner, degreaser and then a good coat of primer & paint. that should do the trick & now they have non-toxic paints that are safe to use around pregnant women and kids (i still would ask someone else to do it, but if you leave it for 4-5 hrs with open windows, it will not be harmful to you or the baby.



it's definitely the best way to clean up and seal whatever smoke may have been absorbed into the walls and create a barrier so that it's no longer harmful to you or the baby. good luck!
