I am having the same problem, Katherine. My son (Born 10 weeks premature) is nearly 14 months old and I still have breast milk. I pumped for a couple of months while he was in the NICU to feed him, but I wasn't allowed to breastfeed so he never really "wanted to" after I brought him home. So - never breastfed, a couple months of pumping... but still lactating a year later. >.< Mine could not be caused by over-stimulation either, as my bedroom life has plummeted after the new arrival. Maybe it just takes a bit to dry up. O_o I'm sure there is an over the counter herbal supplement to assist you. I will let you know if I find something. ^_^

of course you could, but if you're not, it's probably not milk and you should get that checked out

but see I pumped for about a week and i dried up there was nothing coming out at all. and my son was 9 weeks early so I had to give what i could for him and now hes 14 months old. well hes really only a year old becuase he wont be caught all the way up until hes about 2 years old so i really shouldnt be leaking at all.

my son is 26months old and i stopped breastfeeding him at 12 months, but recently i had a couple of incidents where i leaked, my milk never actually "dried up" as i always able to squeeze a couple of drops if i tried, but i never actually leaked through my bra before. i spoke to my nurse practitioner about it and she said that my hormones are probably out of balance and if it happens again then we'll test to see. She also said there really isnt treatment for it, but at least il know whats causing it!

You could possibly be pregnant, but if you would like to dry it up use cabbage leaves inside a sports bra, it sounds crazy but it worked wonders for me!

I agree with the mom who suggested over stimulation. I had a similar experience and my husband was who told me. It had been over a year since I quit nursing and I had just had a period so I attributed it to over stimulation. It lasted a few days and it stopped. My breasts never felt full, but for some reason I was slightly lactating. If it doesn't go away in a few days take a test and make an appointment with your doctor just to double check that nothing is wrong.

As others have said, I would check whether you are pregnant or not before going down any other path.

Keep waiting! You will dry up eventually. Sometimes it takes a while. If you are worried though ask the doctor.

But thank you all for your help and if im not pregnant then I am deff. going to go to the doctors to get me some of that stuff to dry it up.

as soon as i read ur header my mind thought pregnancy so id check that out first. If not go to your doctor, perhaps an infection like mastitis. and it is possible even without breastfeeding i had it before id even had kids.

Has it always leaked? or just started recently? I agree take a test, in saying that my doctor told me that it can take up to 2 years for some women to dry up their milk completely. If your not pregnant and it is bothering you, you can get medication from your doctor to dry it up quickly. Good luck.

omg I had that problem! my midwife/ob/gyn said that it was from "over stimulation" basically my breast obsessed then fiance needed to chill out with the ladies. but just to be safe I would get a pregnancy test.....also my former boss would start lactating any time she took a hot shower (her youngest is well over 15 yrs)

well im not sure about the pregnancy part, but how long have you been producing milk? i would go to the Doctors to make sure u arnt pregnant, and maybe all u need is something to dry out ur milk hope this was helpful, and if u find that ur breasts are heavy and sore i would have a warm shower to help, or u can use cold cabbage leaves on ur breasts to help yeah i know it sounds weird but it works good luck :)
