What does it feel like when your baby moves for the first time?

For me in my first pregnancy it was so amazing! I was lying in bed, ready to go to sleep. And I felt like a tiny little tap tap tap from the inside! It was as if she was saying "Hi Mama! I'm really in here and I want to let you know and say Hi!" It was at about 19-20 weeks and it was such a magical, miraculous experience!

It feels like the world has stopped moving and all that is left is you and your angel.. But seriously.. When I first felt my little one move inside me, I thought "Gas??? hm... no...." You can tell because its like an involuntary muscle spasm inside that doesn't hurt, if that makes sense..

if you think you felt the baby move you probably did doctors like to make you think you're imagining things. when all 3 of my children moved for the first time it felt like little bubbles and it was amazing. congratulations the fun is just beginning! that is my favorite part of pregnancy

I started feeling my baby move at 17 weeks. At first it felt like little air bubbles moving around (kinda like gas but not as painful) and now im 19 weeks and i can definately tell when s/he moves... Its very exciting feeling those first movements. I think thats what made it seem more real to me... Congratulation!

you can feel your baby move around before you can feel and actual kick. that feels like a tickle, or "butterfly" kicks. you feel those pretty early. for an actual kick, push very lightly on your stomach and move your fingers across. now imagine that on the inside of you stomach, and that is what it feels like.

well my doc and nurses would say OH.... it feels like butterflies but after the fact it really feels like gas lol i know it seems funny but yeah unless your very far along then u wont be able to see it good luck with your prego ness !!!

I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO SAY THAT THE FIRST TIME YOU FEEL YOU BABY MOVE IT FEELS LIKE BUTTERFLIES IN YOUR STOMACH. i HAD A BABY THREE MONTHS AGO AND THE THING I MISS THE MOST IS FEELING MY SON MOVING AROUND, IT IS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU ASHLEY!! BEST WISHES!!

for me it felt like bubbles popping as the baby got bigger it changed to feeling like i was being kicked or sometimes it felt like the baby was trying to cuddle with me

at first is like a little butterfly moving her wings inside you

When I first felt my baby move it was really faint but it felt like a small muscle spasm in my stomach. It is really neat when it gets stronger! You definately will be able to tell the difference in movements the further along you get!

For the first day or two, I thought I just had really bad gas!! Lmao!! Then I started to realize that this must have been my baby kicking... its very faint at first and then it gets verrry strong... just wait till near the end of the pregnancy when you can see your whole tummy tilt from side to side as baby moves, and jump up when he/she kicks!!

have you ever seen carbination bubbles roll up the in side of a glass of sprite thats what the first ones i felt were like little rolling sensations on my stomach latter it will be with out a doubt you will know exactly how many little toes are kicking you in the ribs making it that much harder to breath lol enjoy every min of it there is really nothing like it

I felt my son around 16 weeks. At first I thought I was imagining it but then it happened more and more. Sort of like a popcorn popping, but also like a tapping. Just tapping once, then again and more frequently. Once the weeks go by, wow! It's so cool. Makes me miss it. Especially seeing your stomach move around. Seeing the foot go up and then down, his arm moving.,..so neat!

mine felt like jello wiggling. everyone told me it was supposed to feel like butterflys but mine didnt feel like that. i first felt my daughter move at about 4 1/2 months. i got on the phone right away and called my mom & mother in law to make sure that was what was happening. enjoy the moving now, once you are further along and the space your baby has gets smaller, the movements and kicks arent as pleasant!!!

kinda like a mix of hunger and butterflies. i thought it felt some kinda cool. the first thing mine did was play jumprope with her cord lol so it was kinda strange

OMG when I was pregnant with my son it first felt like a pop went off in my lower stomach and as time progress, he was kicking all over the place and it was hard for me to sleep sometimes, plus when I did sleep my son was kicking his father in the back, and we would just laugh about it.

It feels like a flutter or a butterfly in your belly. It is ususally very light, you might also think of it as an little upset stomache or bubbling effect that your are sure is way past the normal morning sickness time. Good Luck! This is an amazing feeling. It was my favorite part of being pregnant. But hold on, the further you get it turns into a punching bag :)

I was a little over three months and it felt like little butterflies in your tummy or like being tickled lighty on the inside if that makes sense. very beautiful feeling but I didn't know if it was the baby moving or just my stomache either. I realized it was because the bigger the baby got the stronger the feelings so I say you did feel your baby. congrats!

I remember a friend of mine was sitting in the seat behind me in my car and was moving around to get comfortable and had pushed their knees into my back and I thought to myself that that was how it also felt to feel my son move in my belly...Congrats on your pregnancy and be well.

It feels like gas! LOL... or like butterflies when you are nervous just in a different place. The first time you feel it, you ALWAYS thinks its gas or not the baby. I think most women feel this way. Until it keeps happening and gets stronger then you realize its your baby. I have to stay whatever it feels like, Its the best feeling in the world!

It feels like a flutter and it is one of the most amazing and exciting things you will ever experience. There is nothing like it when you realize you have a little person growing inside of you. Men are lucky in some ways to not have to experience certain things but on this one they are missing out. Enjoy it and congrats!

Well I found out I was Pregnant July 4th Weekend last year & felt the first movement on my birthday on Sept. 25th. It felt like a butterfly feeling just a little more intense. But when I felt his first kick was after Halloween & then it was just like if you too a ballon and stretched it out & put your fist against it. It was the best feeling ever!

To me it felt like a twitch, sort of like the ones you get in your eye, but i felt it in my lower abdomen, I asked my Dr. and she said it was the baby, I was just 12weeks into my pregnancy.

yea they say first time moms wont be able to figure out the first flutters.. but it kind of feels like gas bubbles.. that was my favorite part of pregnancy was feeling my lil baby kick and move around in my belly! when i think about it i can still feel her little foot in my side! lol she wasnt ever very painful to me! ive heard stories though!

It felt like bubbles in my belly. I wasn't sure if I had gas or what. I don't remember how far along I was. However, I do know that a few weeks after that I felt her on my hand when I touched my belly. Exactly one week after that, I saw her moving in my belly.

i think it's different for all moms. I felt my baby move at 17 weeks. I wasn't sure so when i had my appoitntment with my ob i described it to her and she said that was him. I was laying in bed on the phone with my mom and i was completley stretched out, both arms up and legs straight out. Then i felt this outward pressure just above my hip on the rightside and then it felt like it lowered back down. about a week after that i started feeling random kicks, the same type of pressure, and fluttering. I know now for sure it was him because i'm 36 weeks and have had lots of kicks and flips and rolls and flutters to feel. My baby also has the hickups ALOT. Which at first i wasn't sure what it was it was just a rhythmic bumping and it took me about four or five times of feeling it to realize it wa hickups! Now he has the hickups so hard that whole belly jiggles. My dad got to feel it the other day, his face just lit up with joy!!

I felt my baby move at 15 weeks it felt like bubbles or fluttering fairly low down and it was very faint but after a couple of weeks it got really strong now i wish somedays that it would settle down a bit. if you cant think of anything else that is could be i would say its baby.

mine felt like someone was tapping a pencil against the inside of my belly. it was very rhythmic and to be honest it was VERY annoying. I thought it was a muscle spasm. with DS#1 I was 15wks exactly, DS#2 I was 12w5d and with DD I was 19w1d, I found out two weeks later I had an anterior placenta which is why it took so long for me to feel her moving at all.
