I have the teething tabs and orajel, anything else? He still bursts out in his crying spells and it makes me sad cause I can't soothe his pain.

Oh and I heard taht Orajel is not that good for the gums with infant teething, since it hardens the gums when numbing them and interferes with the teething process.

Okay, I have taken those little washrags for infants, and gotten them wet and put them in the freezer or refridgerator for a while, it chills them enough for the child to 'chew' on them and soothe their discomfort on their gums. Masen loves his cold rags. And I use the Hylands teething tablets. :) good luck

give him nurofen or calpol (painkillers for babies) if he really cries alot. my son used to take teethers (he is still teething but has 2 teeth now) and i also give my fingers for him to bite on but not anymore now he has teeth haha! it is a hard time, but you will come over it.

I save the crust from the pizza put it in the freezer and give it to the baby when he is fussy, he loves it and it doesn't bother his hands because they don't stay supper cold for long.

Frozen Waffles and Tylenol! I was also told by lots of people to rub a little whiskey on there gums but i never tried that. That is a old old remedy I think.

tylenol, cold wet wash cloth, you can put it in the freezer, teething rings (from the freezer) your finger is always helpful to chew on, you could try to get a finger tooth brush. my daughter loved it when she was in a lot of pain plus it helps them get use to it being in their mouth and brushing their teeth isn't so difficult as they get older :)

What i do when my daughter is teething is give her either motrin or tylenol and then some orejel, we always try to make sure she has a nice bath before hand to start the calming process. And then she is usually fine after that.

Please see your doctor and get a urine sample tested! My son had the same symptoms and it was a bladder infection! He was crying when he was weeing! Failing that I was searching like you for a simple natural teething relief when my son was 3 month and teething. I was referred to hylands teething relief tablets. I know it sounds scary when u hear tablets for a baby but its okay. They are dissolvible and impossible to choke on. I just give 3 tablets whenever i see them getting irritated or wakeful or in pain and they work a treat. Infants friend is also a godsend! And BONJELA is better than Oragel, i found. If everything fails then you may have to give him paracetamol or ibuprofen depending on how old he is.

i would use either frozen fruit put in one of those food pacis the ones that look like an overgrown paci but made with neting where you put in food so lo won't choke on a piece, and i also would get a washcloth, wet it to be damp and put in the freezer, both my kids loved it, the would naw on it till it was no longer cold and since it's soft it wouldn't hurt to chew on.

*Cold rag (wet it put it in a ziploc bag throw it in freezer)
*Cold teething rings
*wash your hands and let him chomp on it
*infants tylenol (talk to doc or health nurse first)
*toys that vibrate when baby bites down on it

I have read in so many places and told by my Dr. that you should NOT use orajel.. you can read why here..

http://www.hippiedippiebebe.com/health/o...

For my little man I put a little Vanilla Extract on my finger tip and rub it on his gums and it works great! I also let him chew on a cold wash rag. And give him some tylenol or motrin(if they are over 6 months old).

When my son was cutting teeth I gave him Waffle sticks to gum on they are nice and cold but not to hard and will break up as the gum them so they don't choke. I also rubbed him gums with a baby toothbrush to help the skin break down and only had to use oragel at night. I have been taking my son to the dentist since before he got teeth b/c he was so premature and they said that brushing the gums reg will help the teeth come throught easier. Good Luck I hope it helps you too!!

These are all wonderful suggestions, my daughter will be 5 months in a few days and she tries to chow down on everything, her fingers, my fingers, my shoulder, etc.and she's vicious with it :) ,could this be signs of a teething baby???

When my son was cutting his first teeth, I gave him big carrot sticks and pickles. Well it depends on if your baby likes pickles. You can give him a combination of the teething tablets and the generic brands of Tylonel, because of the recall.

do you really want an honest opinion? the old fashioned way -tequila, brandy, whiskey rubbed on the gums using your finger tip or 1 of those infant toothbrushes you put on your finger.
now before anyone becomes judgemental, i want you to think about this - nyquil contains 10% alcohol & mouthwash contains 5%.......beer on agverage contains 5% or less. i am not talking about giving your child a shot, i'm simply saying get the tip of your finger just wet enough & rub baby's gums. however i do agree with using frozen objects such as stated by other moms (ex: wet wash cloth, popsicle, ice, etc.) medications are costly & for my son were useless. when we were in mexico touring a tequila my son was in pain because he had multiple teeth coming in at once. the tour guide/owner of the factory gave me a shot of tequila, told me to rub his gums with it & for me to drink the rest...soon after he stopped crying & my headache went away!

My pediatrician actually told me not to use any of the jels that you put on their gums because it makes their gums harder for the teeth to break through and just makes it more painful, I've heard just to give them a little tylenol and let them chew on something cold to help the teeth break through. My daughter doesn't have any teeth yet and is turning 8 months in 5 days

teething tablets are my favorite!! me son hates orajel so i dont use that.my son also likes cold things.so i like to take a rag and freeze it so its cold and he loves that.i have learnt that there is only so much that you can do to soothe a teething baby.my son is cutting his 5th tooth right now.

i would say put a nuk in the freezer and give it to him! if he used a nuk anyways it should be something he's comfortable with and the cold will help him feel better!

Try filling a bottle with water and putting it upside down in the freezer. So the nipple is full of frozen water they will suck and chew on it. It comforts them and numbs everything my daughter loves it. And its hot outside so it cools her down too.

Hylands teething tablets help my teething son more then anything..

Also the vibrating teething star he has helps, gives him something firm to bite down on and the vibration stimulates the gums..

i've tried orajel but it wears off soo fast..

My pediatrician recommended infant tylenol for a longer lasting relief
((the dosage for babies under two goes by weight not age so make sure you ask your pedi for the proper dosage before hand so you dont give too much or too little))

i also wash my hands well and use my finger to rub his gums firmly he likes that as well..

Best of luck to all the teething babies and there mommies..

My son has terrible trouble teething as well.
Here is what has worked;
Give him a pickle to chew/suck on. Sounds silly, but the juices that the pickles are in helps numb the gums. Little guy will make some funny faces but it really helps numb the gums. Obviously watch him while he has it so he doesn't stuff the whole thing in his mouth.
I give my son a wet cold wash cloth to suck on. It helps ease the pain a little and will help the teeth break through the gums. This is also the only way I can get my son to drink plain water, so he always has one handy =D
I would be very careful giving baby anything frozen for long periods of time. under 5 minutes is fine but any longer than that and it can cause damage to the gums and around the mouth. When ever I give my son something frozen I let him at it for 5 minutes, then give him a 15 minute break then let him have the frozen object for another 5 minutes. This gives the area some time to warm back up.

Hope this helps!

There are these great products that allow you to put cut up fresh fruit in a cloth mesh baggie attached to a little handle and your little one can gum the fruit (I always chilled it in the fridge or put it in the freezer for a couple minutes to help numb the pain) to help with the teething. My son particularly liked peeled apples and melons. Bananas work too but they are hard to chill as they brown when they get cold. If he was still in pain after that then I would give him bare minimum of childrens/infants ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Can't remember the name of the product but I bought them at Kacz's Kids, and have seen them at Walmart as well.

I have these drink sticks that you freeze, babies love to chew/suck on then it feels great on their gums. Or get a soft baby clothe wet, freeze it then let baby chew on it, that also feels good on the gums.

My son is teething as well. Sometimes if his gums get really bad I give him Tempra Drops. Other times I just give him a cold teething ring, or a cloth.

I am not sure how old your little one is but. when my daughter was cutting her first two teeth I gave her a cold celery stick to chew on. She loved it. The only thing is you have to watch out for the strings in it....

Frozen french fries. I know it sounds completly weird but my daughter hated anything really cold (ice cream ect) but the french fries worked perfect. Another thing is my mom got my youngest a teething toy that vibrates. It looks like a strawberry and when you bite down on it it vibrates. She really likes that. You can also put a wet washcloth in the freezer and let him chew on it. Give him some tylenol and that will help a little also. Good luck!

I never used oral gel my sons doctor didnt recommend He said alot of the time it can toughen the gums but teething tablets work amazing for my son or the icee pops that come liquid then you freeze them before he got any teeth i let him chew on the outside of that he didnt really like his teething rings because it made his hands cold but i would run a wash cloth under warm water and he loved chewing on that

Talk to your pediatrician or dentist, they may be able to recommend or prescribe something stronger. my son did fine with the Hylands Teething Tablets, Orajel, and if needed it, Ibuprofen.
