I am 21 years old and pregnant with my first child.I was at the mall with baby's Godmother doing some shopping and we stopped in the liquor store so she could pick up some liquor. We got in line behind two old ladies and I stood far off to the side so I wouldn't have to shuffle my bags and show my ID which they sometimes ask you to do even when you are not buying also the legal drinking age in Canada is only 19 and I look at least 25. One of the old biddies turned around and noticed my belly and immediately started whispering to the other and shooting me dirty looks, my friend outraged said loudly enough for them to hear "is this actually happening?" (this is why I love her) anyway they kept looking over their shoulders at me (probably trying to see if I was wearing a wedding ring - I'm not married but my boyfriend and I have been together for 7 years and do plan on marrying after baby is born) and muttering disapprovingly. I felt like saying something but instead just smiled at them and told them to have a nice day as they left.
Annnnnnyway, my point is what was their problem? They had no way of knowing if I was in fact married or not and I really don't think I look too young to be having a baby on that day I looked particularly old and like crap so really they must have just been upset that I was in a liquor store? SO WHAT! I clearly was not buying anything, it's not like the alcohol was going to throw itself from the shelves and into my uterus, old ladies need to mind their own business!
