My DD2 is 2 and a half i really think its time, at home she shows interest and she likes to wear undies at home but its me =(...I'm too lazy to go through it all again and when i do i go cold turkey. My DD2 has a couple of nappies left but i have decided not to buy anymore and per-sue with training her with undies only.
But i agree with pp, every child is different and they will show interest in their own time.

It depends on the child, but when they are old enough to bring you diapers and assist with their own diaper change, it's time. Or if they understand time for diaper change. I potty trained my daughter at 18 mos. it took one week.

You know I truly believe every child is different. My oldest son didn't potty train until he was two and a half and then wasn't out of pull ups until he was three. My daughter and youngest are eleven months apart so they potty trained together. She was two and he was one. I think take your time, don't push them and it will happen perfectly

Well I tried to find whether you had a boy or girl & what age he/she was to gear a response more toward you, but the simple answer is it varies!! My girl was trained @ 1y/o because she'd had surgery, expressed an interest & I was home with her....when I went back to work, she regressed to accidents for a couple weeks, maybe a month but that was it. Now my son is two & just had surgery as well & would only use the potty at the hospital. He will get up in the middle of the night to use the potty but won't during the day. I go ahead & use "big boy" undies anyway, makes for lots of laundry but he is learning when he needs to control it. Sometimes the control just isn't there in little ones. have just went by reading my kids & let them tell me, obviously this isn't the case as they start to age but if they are expressing interest, put the effort in, mom because it's never too early if it is on their terms! :) Good luck! ** One tip, I have frequently heard do not go back & forth from pullups to diapers, it can be confusing so if you start, keep em!

I started potty training both of my girls as soon as possible! As soon as your little one shows an interest, then it's time! My first born was completely potty trained by the age two. My second was potty trained by age two also. Buy your child some "Big boy/girl" underwear and make a big deal about it. Every time you go potty, take them to go too. I found a Winni-the-pooh potty chair that played music, and said "good job" when you flushed it. It was so cute.

I won't say there's an age, rather as soon as your little one can speak to tell you they want to go to the toilet, and he/she feels uncomfortable with a wet or dirty nappy. So it will most probably be anytime after their second birthday. Also you have to introduce them to the toilet slowly but surely. Lots of kids are afraid of toilets, or like my one, he's afraid of strange toilets. I took Kyle off the nappy over easter weekend. before that I used to put on a pair of underpants every now and then, so he was familiar with the idea. Then, the Thursday after work, i took off his nappy, put some underpants on, and he never wore a nappy again. I know I was very lucky, but the most important thing is just that as soon as you take them off the nappy, don't ever put a nappy on again. It confuses them if they can pee in their pants while sleeping but not when they're playing. Good luck!
