1st off insted of medicine, take her clothes off to her nappy/diaper with a warm damp cloth, dab over her body and let any excess water dry on her skin, (make sure room is a nice temp for her tho done want her gettin too cold) leave 4 10 - 15 mins and retake her temp, if that hasnt dont it try medication, pain killer, i dont know if ur from states but in the uk its calpol or iburprofen that normaly does the job, if after another 20mins of giving her medicine hasnt worked and her temp is 30 degrees c the advice we r given is to take them to the hospital a + e but phone ur doc ok? hope this helps :) o n make sure she drinks plenty of cool water if u can get her to :)

If a temp goes over 40, call an ambulance immediately. Under 40 just pop her into a tepid bath and give a spoon of calpol. If the temp doesn't come down after a couple of hours then contact your GP or doctor on call. Sometimes adding some vinegar to the water can help.

Fever with allergies is quite rare, have you checked that was actually what caused it, because it may have been masking a virus, especially given how long it lasted. If her allergies are that extreme maybe ask the doctor of prescription strength anti-histamine.

well i guess it all depends on how high the fever is my 5year old just had a fever of 105 SCARED THE CRAP out of me.. but if you think its to high call the doctor/nurse.. if you see any new signs go into the ER or call the nurse to see what she wants you to do.. but don't ever think you can't call the doctor a 1000s time a day.. i'm pregnant with my 4th child.. and i drive my husband crazy because him thinking as a man i guess that everything is nothing.. but when i take them into the doctors.. beause i would rather be safe then sorry.. and i come home from their doctors i'm like they have *whatever it is* he is like really.. so go with your gut a mother always knows best..

I agree with Lyndia, my son had a high temp of 42 and i called the health nurse line and they automatically called the ambulance to see how he was and then we went to the hospital. I recommend baby nurofen really good for high temp, it brought my sons temp right back to nornal, because for me panadol did not work. So if it is around 38 - 39 i recommend calling the health nurse line or just take ya little one to the hospital.

It depends on how hight the fever is and how long she had had it. Definately try the paracetamol and cool (not cold) baths. If it was persistant and didnt look like it was going anywhere then she would be to the doctor to get checked. If it hit 38/39 then I would call the health nurse line (actually I'd just call my parents who are both nurses but not everyone is that fortunate) and find out if I should be making plans for the hospital.

Make sure you don't over dress your baby. Have her take Motrin or tylinol (whatever works best for her or whatever you're pediatrician suggested) and you can ice her head especially when your baby is sleeping. My daughter recently just had a fever, i did all that and her fever went away in less then 24 hours.

if your baby has a high fever you should take her/him to emergincy. But if it's due to allergies than ya need to avoid those alergies. avoid anywhere where the child will be exposed to what he/she is allergic to. Like Danielle said strip him/her down, use a damp cloth to wash the baby. put baby into new clothes that haven't been exposed to the alergine. if the symptoms don't go away then take baby to emergincy. Depending how bad the alergy is it could get a lot worse very quickly.

hm there are some natural medicines u can use, or take her out in the cool air, strip her down, cool bath or a damp wash cloth....
