my zelli just recently full potty trained 3 weeks ago, after we struggled trained her since she was 2 y'old, she's now 3y old. She started from her daycare after she moved into senior kindy room, at home we continue no nappy at all so she can feel wet in her undies. also we always put toilet ring and a step so make her easy to access toilet by herself in urgent. My experience dont push too hard child for potty, they ready when they ready.

well I found out from my husband that when it comes time to potty train our son. to use a cherrio in the toilet. He said this is to help him learn to aim. plus you can make it a game. put a cherrio in the toilet and tell him if he keeps peeing on that you can give him a surprise. give him some juice or a snack? When he shows signs of needing to pee time for the cherrio game. to get your kid to do a number 2 in the potty give them a surprise if they do that too. well that all i can think of for a boy. but i dont know what to do about a girl. sorry.

Go ahead and put them in big kid underwear. I found that Manda didn't like wet underwear. After a few days she figured out that if she went to the potty, she didn't have wet underwear anymore

If you are bent on training at home (I was for a while) we got Lex a chair when she was around a year... and just left it in the living room for her to play with... she got comfortable with it and we started moving it slowly into the bathroom.. she sat on her potty when mommy sat on the big potty, but she wasnt interested... there is no right or worng answer.. your kids will tell you when they are ready and sometimes, its long after you are ready for them to be potty trainned. Just be patient. and have fun with it... I have heard cherios in the potty helps train boys... good luck all

My oldest son is now 6. I started trying to potty train him at like 15 months. It wasn't working the way I wanted it to. I put pull-ups on him thinking that might help. It didn't. So I put him back in diapers. I tried getting him a potty chair. That didn't work. I also heard that having him watch daddy go to the bathroom helps a lot. Unfortunately daddy was away for awhile. So that didn't work out either. I decided he would do it on his own time. So I let it be and right after his 2nd birthday he was in the bathroom yelling mommy come here. So I ran as fast as I could and he says, " Mommy looked I pooped." So my advice is let your child do it on his or her own. Don't ever force them to go to the bathroom.

I am also in the beginning of trying to potty train my son, he is 28 months... I've heard that girls are easier to train... i started out with putting my son on his potty chair first thing in the morning when he wakes up and first thing after his nap. Sometimes he goes, and sometimes he doesn't... but its a start! Good luck!

I was having a lot of trouble with my daughter (she has sensory deprovation and doen't always feel things the way she should) We started her in a pre K day care center and she was nearly completly potty trainned in 6 months. she has been there a year now and very rarely has accidents now... she even stays dry at nap and bed time! Some times peer pressure is a good thing...
