My son is 8mos old and he hasnt started crawling yet and his doc said if he dont start crawling when he's 9mos he might have to see a specialist.

Give him tons of tummy time, and show him how to do it. you can help by gently pulling his hips up and getting him to stand on his hands and knees. My daughter started crawling when she was 6 and a half months. it all depends on motivation too.

In all the research I've done and experience I have there is no set deadline for your baby to start crawling. Honestly I think your doctor is crazy. I could understand in some cases having the baby see a specialist because they haven't started crawling but only if they were over 1 or had other developmental problems. If your baby is reaching every milestone and developing like a normal baby I wouldn't worry at all. My daughter just started crawling and she's almost 10 months. Some babies just take longer. A lot of experts say that some babies like to focus on a different skill. Some babies want to go as soon as possible while other would rather learn to talk, to play with toys. As long as your baby is meeting all the other developmental milestones you should have nothing to worry about.

My daughter started crawling at age 6 months and into a full craw at 7m then I was worried about her not walking as early as the other kidos but soon enough when I worried about it and worked on it with her she got the walking thing down packed in 2 weeks and walked by herself at age 13 months.

Hi! My friend's daughter was very big for her age and didn't sit up or crawl at all. All of the sudden when she was 1 she started walking. I wouldn't worry about it yet. Is he big and maybe that's why he isn't crawling...or maybe he just doesn't like to be on his belly?

All babies are different, my son was crawling on laminate flooring at 6 months, he's now 9 months but his cousin (only 6 weeks younger) still isn't crawling & bearly even sitting up.

these things happen very quickly one day you'll come home and he will be crawling through the entire house. my baby girl was the same she used her arms to drag herself forward on the floor and before she turned 8 months she just started crawling and she is now 8months and already lifting herself up to stand against things.

My son started crawling at 6 months, but I know of a baby at my church who didn't start crawling til he was 9 months. His main problem was he had all wood floors in his house and it's sometimes hard to get traction on slipery floors. I wouldn't worry about it though, some babies just like to take there time and go slow while others are just to curious and have to know whats around the corner all the time. If you have wood or linoleum floors be sure and put out rugs in the middle of your living room for his tummy time and see if this helps him any.
