When did you baby start walking?

my son was cruising the furniture by 7 months and was really stable. He walked at 11 months ( thats considered early). Average is between 12-18 months. Some babies walk at 9-10 months. Trust me on this one, the later the better, because you want your baby to be more stable and not clumsy and falling all over the place. And also enjoy your rest, because once she figures it out she is gone and you will be chasing her 24/7 , its like running a marathon everyday, and also having a heartattack every second in fear they are gonna fall and hurt themselves, my son climbs on to the table and walks along it. Just let her walk when she is ready, dont pressure her, it will discourage her. Enjoy this time it wont last long. i miss the days I could sit him down and play with him and be able to turn around for even a second

My daughter started walking at 9 months and my twins at 1 year to the day but if she is pulling up on things it won't be long!!!! Get ready to run!!! LOL

My son is 10 months he can take around 5 steps before he falls or gives up and crawls (crawling is faster for him). He pulled up at 6 months, cruised then too. He started letting go about 7 months and just standing all by himself. 8 months he started taking 1 or 2 steps without holding something. Now he walks a few steps now and then but much prefers crawling cuz it's easier and quicker.

Walking at 12 months, he was a big boy so it took him a little longer to get moving :-) He was content to take it slow and enjoy the scenery, I think it really depends on your child's personality.

my little man started walking 9 days before his first birthday.
before hand he started taking a few steps every now and then .. and was pulling himself and cruising around the furniture by 7months ..
he started crawling at 7months as well.
now he's almost 18months and is off like a rocket and never sits still!

my son started by pulling up on things and useing the couch and coffee table when he was 5 months he didnt start walking alone without the help till he was 9 1/2 month. But they say the longer they crawl the smarter they turn out.

My daughter is 8 months old and Just started to Crawl.
I was a Baby Wearing alot since I Stay home. My Daughter can stand up assisted. Every baby is different.

my little one is only 3.5 months and will stand and take steps with someone holding his hands for balance! He's been doing this for over a month already! If you sit him down he pulls himself up using someones hands. He isnt sitting up just yet on his own but hes getting there, so he cant pull up on his own yet.

My daughter who will be a year old on Wednesday is still not walking. She keeps pulling up, and wants to use her push walker a lot, she also likes to walk while holding my hand or hands, but she hasn't started walking on her own yet. They have to get their balance down, and have to be able to stand on their own. IF you want her to walk, take her hands and walk her around. Though that wont make her walk, she has to be comfortable with herself, and has to have her balance down.

my daughter was the same way she is now 9 months and is walking i honestly thought she would walk sooner but i didnt wanna push it so when she would act like she wanted to walk i would hold her hand and walk around our living room with her for a bit. now she does it all on her own.

my son started trying to crawl at 6mo but didn't get the hang of that till 8mo but once he started crawling he started pulling up and trying to walk and was walking at 10mo. My niece on the other hand(who just turned 9mo) started crawling at 6mo and walking by 7mo and is now running. I really wouldn't worry about when your little one will crawl or walk, they will do it in their own time....at long as they aren't 12mo or 18mo before they crawl and aren't 2 before they start walking then you should be just fine.

Hiya, at 5months exactly my son was crawling everywhere, and straight away he was pulling himself up by himself. At 8months 2weeks and 1day he was taking a few steps and by 8months 3weeks he was walking everywhere by himself. I have been told he was very advanced walking for his age. Every baby is different. pulling up on things is a great sign that shes preparing for her independence of walking but don't rush her. My oldest son is 20 mths now and started walking at 10 mths. He was pulling up on things from the day he started crawling at 7 mths. They take their time to make sure their comfortable and can handle balancing. She will start on her own time you can't judge when shell walk by other children. They are their own person entirely and everyone is great in their own unique way.

My son was 9 months when he pulled himself up on the couch let alone climbing on to the couch lol! he started walking around 10 11 months now hes 17 months and cant keep up lol!!

the first time my son pulled him self up, and stood holding on to something was April 19th, when he was 7 months 6 days old. Today is the first day he took a couple steps unassisted, so 1 day shy of 10 months. it took about a month for him to steady himself, and not fall by accident every single time, about another month to feel comfortable walking while holding onto things, a couple weeks later he would let go of what he was holding onto, and stand unassisted, and a couple weeks after that, (today, lol), he finally felt comfortable , (or maybe he was too busy to get back down to the floor and crawl those 4 steps to me? lol), to take a few steps! it seems like a slow process, but really it goes by WAY too fast!!! my guy will be 10 months old in a couple hours, and technically i have a toddler!!!! i miss my little immobile baby!

My daughter was pulling up on things at 5 months, and I thought I would have an early walker, but she started crawling shortly after that. Because she knew how to crawl, she did not start walking until 10 months. She took her first steps at 8 months, so it was a slow progression of 1-2 steps to 5-6 and so on.

9 1/2 months. My daughter only crawled for a short time. I would just stand her on her feet a few steps from me and hold my arms out to her and all the sudden she walked to me. I was so excited....now she gets into EVERYTHING. Sometimes I wish she could only crawl lol.

I know my twins were pulling up on stuff when they were 8 months old but never got the guts to let go... they started walking right before there 1st birthday and of all the places to take your first steps they walked in daycare :( but they are running like crazy now (they are 2.5 years old)

Our son was also pulling himself up around 6.5 months of age. He was walking around our coffee table at 7 months and walking unassisted at 10.5 months. I think your daughter is well on her way to walking on her own :) Enjoy!

My son started walking at 7m3w...by walking I mean taking more than 6 steps unassisted and being able to turn around standing up, u-turns and turning corners. The first signs of walking (for me) were at 4m2w, we were on holidays at his grandmothers house and she had this tall toy that made heaps of noisey music and he wanted so desperately to be up will the music that he pulled himself up onto the toy. It took him an hour of failed attempts. But when he got it he was sooooo chuffed! From that day on he was almost always on his feet (his choice) practicing. At 5m1w he started to slowly cruise (he was very wobbly) and at 6m0w he could take 3-4 steps between people/objects/furniture. 7m3w walking. But it wasn't until he was 9m0w that he could get up from a crawling/sitting position to standing unassisted, up until 9m...if he tripped, or stumbled over (which was quite easy coz we were in a tiny flat and daddys a horder :() he would crawl to the wall or bookcase etc and help himself up and then take off again. It was only a period of 3-4 months but it felt like forever! My nana was always so surprised to see this little 4mo standing in his cot. It was so cute. He is now 20mo and can jump and kick and climb ladders, he also runs cute little errands around the house for me!
Oh, littles are so wonderful. I'm almost bursting out of my shoes thinking about him.

when my daughter got to the butt in air stage, she'd try to stand up and end up pitching forward and usually get a rug burned forehead. so i would help her put her hands on her feet. once she go that down, i moved onto knees. this helped her learn to bend her knees for balance. from there she was fine standing up on her own. no more rug burn or bumps and bruises.

She is definately pulling up on all furniture and on my legs. She just starting crawling 2 wks ago but she is really fast. Before she started crawling she was trying to stand up and would have her butt in the air but she's not strong enough to bring her hands up off the ground. I am excited but soo scared. She topples over all the time! I have to keep a close eye on her.

my almost 16 month old started walking on her own at 8 months 9 days. she has been able to stand and support her own weight, with help to balance, since about 2.5 to 3 months. She started rolling over to get places at about 4 to 5 months. within a week of being able to sit herself up from laying down, she started pulling herself up on couches, chairs and peoples legs. this was about 5.5 months. she was cruising around and walking when holding hands before 6 months. she never truly crawled. at about 7 months she would "walk" on her hands, left toes and drag her right leg or curl it up under her. first solo steps at 8 months 9 days. she was taking 12 plus steps alone within two days and could stand up without holding anything and walk 20+ steps by the end of the week. she is now running non-stop and climbing. she went into a toddler bed the day after her first birthday because she could climb out of her crib even with it backwards against two walls. my daughter is also tall and very skinny (31 inches and 19 pounds 2 ounces at 15 month check-up). her doctor has said that she is between 3-6 months more advanced in her physical development. he's only had two patients walk earlier in all his 25+ years.

My oldest was pulling up at 6 and cruising around the furniture at 7, she started walking at 9 1/2 months. My baby was pulling up at 6 and cruising immediately and walking just before 9 months.
