i had sex when my baby was 2 weeks old. the stitches wont tear or anything. my husband told me that at the 2 week mark i was tight as i was before i had my baby. if you dont think so you could always purchase a tightening cream. also my bleeding was very light to almost nothing by that point. if there's bleeding then it will shower away. be protected because who wants to be pregnant when you have a newborn.

18 months?????? wow....

I had sex 3 days after delivery..... while I wouldn't reccommend this, I don't think it's necessary to wait long. As soon as you feel the urge, go for it.

well i think it depends on the body chemistry (i.e) the structure of the body.

so may take two weeks before engaging in sex, but some still take longer period because of what they went through during delivery

I think we waited about 2 months. Sex was the last thing on my mind since I was in pain for quite awhile after.

18 months???? Wow your a trooper. I don't know what was wrong with me when I was pregnant and immediately following pregnancy, but I couldn't get enough of my husband. I was getting ansy after the first week after my C section. He convinced me to wait another week, so after 2 weeks we started in again, the first time felt horrendous, even if you don't have a vaginal birth, you still dilated and that whole area inside is extremely tender. Everytime after that got easier and easier. By the time he was 2 months old it was gone. Hope that helps! Good luck!

I think 6 weeks is better for those that have normal delivery than those that do c-section and it also depend on the chemistry of the body i.e the time the woman need particularly.

do it when you feel ready and relaxed enough if you rush you wont enjoy it and will be tense the whole time you have been through enough let him wait a bit it wont hurt him

I know everyone says 6 weeks is enough but I was uncomfortable at first. To tell you the truth...I felt a twinge of pain everytime until my son was almost 10 months old so I would take it slow and not push it...you'll know when you're ready and as long as you have a partner that's willing to make you comfortable, everytime, even if there's a little pain at first, will be a good experience. Everyone has doubts at first.

I have to agree with jenifer i had a c-section and was cut low trust me after you start you dont even notice you've been cut open

Depends on how the birth went and how you feel, I think. We waited 3 or 4 weeks, and the first time was a little uncomfortable, but I don't think I could have waited any longer than that!

I had a c-section, and was ready to go as soon as soon as possible! it wasn't too bad the first time, he just needs to be very gentle. I don't know what has been going on but since my daughter was born, it's like we are newlyweds again! lol maybe I'm making up for lost time, I was very interested in anything sexual while i was pregnant. I didn't even like kissing that much.

at 2 months you still have stitches? At any rate, if you are in the mood and have the energy for sex, you are doing MUCH better then I did!

I think it depends on how you feel really. We waited two weeks with my first child and had a second degree tear which needed stiching but with my second child it was just five days. Just take it easy and don' push yourself. I think it's a bit like doing your first poo after having your first child.; I remember being petrified and really didn't want to go but once I did it I wondered why I made such a fuss:)

6 weeks the doctors usually advise , make sure when you do you use lots of lube as it can be a little sore the first time back . good luck have fun : )

We waited a 2-3 weeks after a c-section and took it kind of slow. We were both comfortable with it and everything was fine. (I'm a fast healer and that helps.) As long as you are listening to the cues of your body, you should know when the right time for you is. Normally, they say six weeks after delivering it is safe. Hope that helps.

I had LOTS of stiches! I waited 6 weeks before having sex. It was fine. Just take it slowely and if it too uncomfortable just stop and try again in a week or so. I found that my partner was more nervous about hurting me than i was!

Two months shouldn't be a problem... you may be a little sore to begin with, but that would happen no matter how long you wait... infact... the longer you wait the sorer it will be! You should just go for it and if you have any problems, call your doctor who can check it out. Hope that helps...

i waited 5 weeks and that was after a c.section. it just depends on how comfatable you are. x

my OB said when I was comfortable with it. I had stiches with my first (only 4 though) and we waited 4 weeks. I did not have to have any stiches with my second and we only waited a week and a half (I know, I know... :P ... does it give any of you a clue as to why our two youngest are only 16 months apart? tee hee hee...).

It really is an individual thing and only you can decide when you are comfortable with it and ready.

after 2 months your stiches are gone. My OB and everyone else told me 6 weeks is all you need to wait.
