My little girl will be 1 on the 21, and she absolutely hates getting her diaper changed. Am I wanting to start to early?

Thanks for all the advice! I will take all this into consideration! But how in the world did people potty train their kid at 4 months old?? Mine started sitting up at that age! lol

I don't think it's too early. Our son is 14 months and is in the early process of being potty trained. He tells us when he has to poop so why not take advantage of it? He is doing great! Good luck!

I know some people potty trained their babies at 4 months old. My daughter is 7 mo and I am planning on potty training her before she turns 1 years old. Personally, in my own opinion, I dont like kids wearing diapers past 1 years old. So its not too early, saves money!

My doctor told me don't even attempt to potty train until they are two but I think it's a load of bull. My oldest daughter was potty trained by 20 mos. all you have to do is by her a little potty of her own and put it in the bathroom. Start off by taking her in when you go so she can see what it's about and if she does...#2...lol at the same time every day then when you see her trying to go stick her on the potty. Also what helped me was buying mine big girl panties (they make them as small as 2t) and showing her how to pull them down when she went. That made her very excited and she did not want to mess up her pretty panties!!

My oldest would take her diapers off at around 9 mnths old the second she wet or pooped in them and took to the potty quickly, my middle child - the boy just got potty trained at 4 and my 2 yr old hardly ever uses the potty. Every child is different. Take her into the bathroom when you go, tell her what your doing "Mommy is going pee in the potty, mommy doesn't wear diapers" If she seems interested its a good time to start. Make sure her potty is simple and doesn't play music or have toys attached to it, keep it simple. Put her on it often and eventually she will surprise you. We actually got a 3-in-1 toilet seat cover. 1 potty trainer size toilet seat for lil bums, 1 adult size and of course the top cover ;) it was the best $30 I spent at Walmart :)
