i worked only up till i was 27 weeks my job is a hospital level caregiver so it got risky i was hit twice in my stomach by residents not ther fault alot of them have dementia, i also couldnt reach over the bed rails to assist them for daily tasks, im now 38weeks goin crazy from the amount of time i have spent at home, and have expressed to my fiance about how i felt bad about money being tight but he assured me it was better i left and have a healthy baby rather than risk losing her because of work, i would have loved to work right up until shes due, but its a personal choice. good luck

i am 27 weeks pregnant with my first and i plan to stop working at 30 weeks, i am on my feet all day working as a cook in a cafe, its often hot and i have to reach and bend alot which gets really uncomortable, my partner and work mates think im over doing it and im starting to agree as im exhausted at the end o each day, im worried about the financial side of things but i have to put myself and the babys health first. im going to enjoy having those 10 or so weeks to have time to myself and relax and prepare for the baby

work as long as u are comfortable, i work up to about the end of my 8th month, I have known women who worked right up the the point when there water broke, I worked with one she thought she just had to pee a lot LOL. I personally went at it with the intent on working up till I had the baby meaning working threw the first stages of labor until I couldn't bare it(I have a high tolerance for pain) but cut it short because I grew ungodly tired just standing at register....so like I said only as long ass you are comfortable with working

I'm a high school teacher and worked up until the day I had my daughter. I had extra help though. My mother took me to and from work, plus I had all of my planning done for the quarter I would be gone. It all depends on your energy level and how you feel.

i knew a lady who went into labor at work. so as long as your doctor says its ok, your not high risk and you don't work in a potentially dangerous environment you can work as long as you like.

definitely depends on how you feel and if you're going to be compensated for that time off...I was due 9/9 and I work about an hour from home/hospital...my last day at work was 9/3 and my LO wasn't born until 9/17...I was soooooooooooo bored for those two weeks

it all depends on how you feel, if your still coping ok think about leaving at a later date and think the less time you take off before baby is born the more time you will have to spend with baby!!

I think you should work as long as you possibly can. It keeps you active and you have something to do. I worked full time right up until my son was born, literally :) I finished work at midnight and gave birth 4 hours later lol ;) If you feel able to keep working then do it. Good luck :)

I think that you should stop working, when your body tells you that it's enough. As women we push and push ourselves to the limit. Even though you are tired at the end of the day maybe you feel like you can get up again and make it to work.
Plus, some things to think about are --do you have the benefits and time off of work to leave now?

I worked full time at my job up until I was about 34 weeks pregnant. I then went part time, because of some issues I was having. I stopped working altogether at 38 weeks & had my son a little less than 2 weeks later. I think it just depends on how you feel & what your doctor suggests. :)

totally depends on how youre feeling i finished up a couple weeks ago at 34 weeks coz i could use annual leave i had saved up and it was the best choice i could have made, really enjoying some me time before i have a lil one to look after and less stress :)

Sept 24 was my last day of work, and my daughter was born on Sept 26. I also had a job in the medical field that required almost 100% standing and walking, my OB had no problem with me working.

I worked the night before my son was born. I waited tables and was helping my husband with his cleaning job at the time. I had an emergency c section but he turned out a perfect 9lbs 1oz so..... like all the other mommies said it's just how you feel and how your body and the baby react to it all.

I am due in one week.Today is my first day off work and i am due in one week. I worked until I was too uncomfortable at the end of the day. I have a job where I am on my feet all day and running. It's just up to you and how your body deals with pregnancy.

Depends - what does your doctor say? I've known girls who worked up until the day of, but I had to stop at 30 weeks because of pre-term labor. Its up to you and the situation. If its at your discretion, then I guess the next step would be from a financial stand point is it going to hurt you to the point that you're going to have to go back sooner?

yeah I agree - depend what your doing, and how you feel, and what your money situation is. i dont think theres a right or wrong here - I plan on leaving work at 8 months because i want to spend time at home relaxing, getting everything sorted and spending time by myself before baby born - but thats just me, last time I worked right up untill my due date.

Depending on the type of job you do, you can work up until you almost give birth! Especially, if you're not high risk and I don't know if you will get maternity leave but you might want to stay if you don't. Just be careful and don't do anything risky. Good luck.
