Never til one years old! The kidney's don't process it well, they could fail if given too soon.

It didn't take me long to wean my son from soy formula to cow's milk. I too mixed it to start with formula. I started this when he turned 11 months, but it only took me 4 days to wean him! The only thing to keep in mind is they don't need as much cow's milk a day as they may have had formula since formula is where most of there vitamins come from which cow's milk lacks. So, it's important for them to have a balanced diet already established. Even with a healthy diet, I put Enfamil Poly Vi Sol w/iron liquid vitamins into my son's morning milk.

At 9 months you can use milk to mix/make things eg their cereal, custard, that sort of thing. It is recommended to wait until 12 months before actually drinking the milk.

I too had this same question for my community nurse when we had our monthly check up lol.
My daughter is 9 months and our community nurse I can start introducing milk when she hits 10 months but very slowly so her body has time to adjust to it before she is 1!

I aree with veronica...i have 2 kids and this is how my pediatrician instucted me...At about 111/2 months i began mixins whole milk into their formula/ breastmilk. my ratio was 1ounce whole milk to 7 ounces of formula/ breastmilk. Every 3-5 days i went up an ounce of whole milk until eventually they were drinking 8ounce bottles of whole milk. Remember whole milk is best because their babies not models, and their bodies needs a lil of that "fat". They are not on diets and babies burn alot of calories just running and being babies. If you stop 2 early you rick dietary complications down the line i,e. lactose intolerance, gerd, etc.

I tried to start my son at 11 months but he didnt like it so he had toddler formula untill 2 yrs old. My daughter went off formula and straight onto full cream cows milk at 10 months.

We started VIT D milk after our daughter turned 1. We were waiting to talk with her pediatrition and they said to begin her. They suggested if she didn't take it well to mix half formula half milk then gradually move to just milk. Good luck! Elise loves her MILK!

at 12 months you can stop formula and go to cows milk. some babies are a little picky about it. so try a little first and see how it goes.

i started giving my daughter rice milk at 10/11 months because we just couldn't afford the formula and it was making her sick. doc said we could do cow's milk occasionally, but not more than a glass a day until she was a year old because it's hard for their kidneys to deal with such high protein, i think he said.

My son is almost 9 months old and about two weeks ago I switched him to homogenized milk. I started by making his bottles half formula-half homogenized to give his system some time to get used to the change. We haven't had any problems. :)

Make sure you baby is eating three square meals a day before you switch him/her over though. If they aren't getting their nutrience from the formula they need to be getting it somewhere else. I've heard of liquid vitamines you can buy to add to the milk too.
