Um..... well..... it's fun & CAN work....but it's one of those things that I tend to do really well for a few days and then dont do for another month! Ha ha! I wouldn't buy it specifically for fitness, more of a secondary bonus for a nice change!

My brother has the Wii Fit Plus. It's a lot of fun to play with and it does give you a good workout. Like any exercise machine/product, it alone can't get you into shape. Only a healthy diet and regular exercise can. So use it as part of your daily diet and exercise and you'll be on the right track. Good luck with your Wii Fit, and here's to hoping you make your goal.

the wii it self is awesome it also has games for you an your baby to help stimulate your babys brain. but the wii fit will kick your butt and its alot more fun than going to the gyms you just have to play it every day for best results.

I think that it works only as well as the amount of effort you put into it. You can get some decent cardio and the yoga is great. I took off a good 50lbs in the first 6 months after my second baby(I put on almost 100 with the first so I still have a lot to go)

The Wii in general was the best purchase I ever made. My family plays a lot of Wii Sports and we LOVE the Wii Fit! I like how it keeps track of your goals and shows you how you're progressing. I mostly do the hula hoops, step exercise and running activities. I'm looking forward to getting the Wii Fit Plus very soon!

It works but you have to make the effort to do it, you have to be able to set aside time each day to work on it! If you don't it doesn't do much good. I have one and love it, but I have been slacking lately and I know it isn't doing me much good right now, but for a while I was doing it every day and it really helped!

I have one and I dont know how well it works to actually help you lose weight but it is a lot of fun and you can feel a burn when your doing it. I use it just to get active. I find that all I do is housework and taking care of my 11 week old. It gives me some time to myself while he is napping and makes you feel good. Recommended if you are not looking to lose a lot of weight.

I got mine for christmas and had my son the day after. I have been using it and I absolutely love it. I want new games for it b/c it can get a little old doing the same thing over but if you have a variety it's not bad at all. I would highly recommend it to anyone!!!

The Wii fit is amazing hands down. It only works if you are committed and find that happy media balancing baby, home, work and time for yourself. I purchased my (wii) three months ago, and love it. Even though, I exercise 30 minutes a day with Gilad on Fit TV (FREE), I also use the Wii. I have lost ALL of my pregnancy weight. Find a program that works with your lifestyle and remember don't compare yourself with others- Good Luck!

The wii fit is like any other home workout thing. It only works when you take it really seriously. I used it to get in shape when my daughter was two. It worked awesome. My husband would only do the balance games and couldn't figure out why he didn't loose weight. Imaginary ski jumping doesn't really get you in shape!

@Jan Mol - I can see it not being up to your expectations if you are a "real" fitness trainer. It certainly cannot compare to professional training, however every time I have had professional training I quit after a month out of frustration or anger. I flat out DO NOT like to exercise, I dont get the pleasure in it that some people get, and I absolutely hate jobbing/running. I have a low tolerance for tedeous repetetive actions so I find it horribly boring, even though it is great for me. No amount of listening to music or audio books or watching TV helps. So, for the rest of us that exercise because we have to, it is perfect. It makes it fun, so it is easier to stick to.
The Wii fit offers very low impact workouts that will still make you sweat so it is great for all age groups. My in-laws also use it regularly, and they are in their 60s. My MIL lost 12 lbs in 4 months using it 3-4 times a week. I try to use it 20 mins a day and combined with just eating less overall, not really changing what I eat or repriving myself of anything I might crave, just eating less overall, and doing the Wii, not only the fit, but other excercise game, I have lost 35lb since starting Nov 1st. Yes I decided to begin trying to lose weight right before the holidays, everyone said I was crazy, but really it wasnt hard at all. I didnt go without, just ate less, and drank LOTS of water. If I wanted a cookie, I just ate half and shared it with my kids, same with pie, just got a slim slice and shared it. 10 more lbs to get back to my pre-preggo weight from 7 years ago, I am VERY excited! :)
I also found a new motto that has really helped me in my weight loss quest, I tell it to myself often when I get the urge to overeat: "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels".
I have slipped and ate stuff I shoudnt like a whole greasy burger or 2 whole donuts, however I dont beat myself up about it and I dont starve myself to counter it, I just move on and continue normally. The few slips havent affected my weight at all, though I have found that I just dont feel good after now that I have changed my eating habits which makes me not want to do it again. The first two weeks were the hardest when I was shrinking my stomach, I felt hungry all the time, and every time I did, I drank a bottle of water and ate a piece of cheese to trick my brain into feeling full. I soon found that the "hunger" that I was feeling, really wasnt hunger, after the 1st 2 weeks, it was gone completely and I comfortbaly ate a LOT less, so I guess I was just eating out of habit or boredom.
The ony big change I did make was to cut out soda all together, and I never was a coffee drinker. I had switched to Diet a while back which helped with the calories, however the ingedients made me tired and cranky all the time. When I cut it out completely, which was hard the 1st week, I feel much better. I now drink a ton of cran-apple juice, OJ, and pink lemonade, the power that you drop into water bottles in individual servings. They taste great and I feel better. I actuallt had a diet Pepsi a few days ago after not having one for over a month an it didnt taste good at all! This was really surprising because I used to drink them like water, I would literally have 2-3 32oz fountain sodas a day, I used to crave it and once I got it, there was a release of happiness. I see now that it was not because I necessarily liked the taste, but because I was addicted. Its funny how it doesnt taste good to me at all now when before I would crave it so much I would go out in the middle of the night to get one. So sad looking back.

If used correctly, meaning you actually put your full effort into it, it is a GREAT workout! Aside from the Wii fit which is an additional $100 to the game system, you can just get Wii games that have sports like tennis and boxing which are also cardio intensive. The Wii fit weighs you and tracks your progress which can either be fun or embarrassing, however it does have a password option to lock your profile.
There are a ton of other games that are great cardio as well, so there are a lot of options to keep from getting bored if you are willing to spend the money.
Look on eBay for cheaper games and accessories. You can probably get the Wii system pretty cheap somewhere this weekend during a Presidents day sale.

I got the Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas and I have lost 5 lbs since then, my Mother in Law has lost 8lbs. I really think it does work, but you have to dedicate time to do it. You will see results if you give it a lot of effort and time. Its really a fun game system that I play with my daughter and my nieces and we have this competition of who can get the highest score, then my husband comes in and plays it once and beats us all. Its a fun family game and gets everyone moving! At 1st I didn't want to play with anyone cause I thought I would make a fool of myself, but its a lot more fun to play with others when you can! I hope you enjoy it if you do buy it.

First of all make sure you get rechargable batteries for the controller cause they go fast.... I have had great results with the Wii fit plus, I think I have lost a total of 20 lbs using it unfortunatly I am not consistent cause of personal issues, but when I use it my family partisipates too, my 15 yr old sister and I do it together and my kids like to do the yoga and arobic parts. I think it is the greatest thing ever if you are a mom and don't really have time to do anything else. I love my Wii Fit Plus, the games are fun and you don't really notice you are getting a work out until you wake up in the morning a little sore but feeling great.

It works, but you have to be motivated and stick with it. I do it when everyone is sleeping - real early or real late. I also do belly dancing videos and biggest loser aerobics. I hate being stuck inside for the Winter, so I'm trying to make the best of it.

well put it this way. i was always slim build but i rapidly put on 5 stone when i was pregnant i wasnt pigging out or anything i was very active all through my pregnancy, i was just unfortunate that i was one of those women who just filled with fluid and balloned, . after i had my baby which was a year and a half ago. i was so depressed about my weight and never taught id ever get rid of it.i decided to join my husband on the wii. i just went on it around 3 times a week sometimes i didnt go on it for a week i wasnt manic on it or anything like that. i just went on it when ever i was in the mood. a year and half later ive lost 4 and a half stone and believe me i love my food always have and didnt want to mess around with any diets. i just wanted to get back the figure i had before i was pregnent and yahoo i did and i put it down to the wii fit. i found it encouraging aswell cause it shows a chart of the weight dropping down which makes you more determend. and i saw instant results after just two weeks. plus me and my husband spent fun time on it together where we were forced not to talk about the baby which was good. plus i taught id be tired the next day but it was opposit it actually gave me more energy, more confidence, made me laugh, and gave me my figure back so im grateful to the wonderful invention lol id defo recommend it

Hi, it looks like you've already had alot of helpful comments, but I too have a Wii Fit Plus and love it. Some others have complained about not having enough time to use it, but I find it's perfect if you only have enough time to sneak in a few stretches or maybe 10 minutes of cardio. You can do as much or as little as you have time for, plus you can combine moves to make your own routine. Because it's alot of fun I find we use it alot, and I might decide to do half an hour, then keep going because I'm having fun. I can't speak about weight loss though, as I'm not aiming to lose any, the baby weight is gone already... I just want to be healthy and get in my exercise. After reading some other posts, I might go pick up the EA Active as well!
It's awesome if you actually use it, hahaha! We have one, and my fave thing on the wii fit is the hula hoop thing, the motion with out having to actually keep up a real hoop! :) But I had a back injury and hadn't used it in a while...need to start again to work off this extra 30lbs I have picked up since Sept! I have always heard that belly dancing is the best exercise for the middle area, but I don't want to go take a class in it....hula hoop seems really similar, and there are lots of other things on there too. Even just the tennis and stuff, after playing a couple of games, you will really start to feel it in your arms if you're not used to it. And it's fun! Which is the appeal.

I have a different exercise game for my wii and it certainly is a workout. But like some other moms said, finding the time to use it is the problem. And even if I have an hour to myself, I just don't have the energy or motivation to do it. I like the EA Active Sports because it gives you a specific, daily workout and there's a personal trainer on there that actually does push you to do really well.

Wow I've never heard so many people say the liked the wii fit. I have had it for over a year and it's the biggest waste, I'm a fitness instructor when I'm not pregnant and the program is useless. The only program on the thing that is really worth doing is the jogging and it doesn't even use the balance board. If you want a good workout that is going to get you into a target heartrate and keep you there so that you actually are doing something worthwhile pass on the wii fit. I've heard better things about the plus and the active programs but just the wii fit on it's own is a total waste.
