Well at 39 weeks and 2 days I went to my sister in laws wedding with the intention of dancing the night away to encourage the baby out... turn out I didnt need too. Started getting pains through the sit down meal about 3pm, by the time the reception had started at 7 my contractions were every ten minutes or so. I stayed put tho as I didnt believe it was the real thing. My other half started having a drink as I kept telling him I was fine... big mistake. At 10pm my waters started trickling and I had to drive myself and my drunk partner to the hospital. I had an examination which revealed I was 1cm dialated and my waters hadnt infact broke. So off home we went, I helped myself to a nice bath whilst Craig had some sleep to try and sober up. We minute I stepped out of the bath I felt a pop and there was my waters... or so I thought. They were slightly green so had to go straigh back to hospital as she had pooped inside me. We ended up taking a taxi back as I was now in too much pain, as soon as I stepped out the taxi at the hosp by waters quit literally exploded and I had to walk through the hospital looking like I had peed myself! They put me on a drip to speed things up but I was dialating very slow. I had an epidural so I could get some sleep as I was still only 5cm at 8am the following day. At about 3pm the baby heart rate started dipping and I was failing to dialate past 9cm. They said I could have 45 mins to push otherwise they would do a c section. 20 mins later my epidural ran out so I was on my own! 42 minutes later we could see the head and 3 pushes later (and a bit of entonox) she was out! Welcome to the world Jessica Rosie weighing 6lb 10oz.

on my due date me and my baby's father sat and talked to my son in my belly at night time when he came home from work telling him today is his day to come out and that we want to meet him face to face and asking if he wanted to meet use we played around a bit my hubby was tickleing me and makein me laugh alot and than we got ready for bed i was haveing a lil bit of what i thought was braksten hicks and after being in bed for about 10 mins my water broke and my contractions became 7 mins apart with in about an hour so we went to the hospital and my labour lasted about 12 hours and i finally had my beautiful son Alexander

My 1st I was in labor with 20 hrs, my 2nd I was in labor 10-but for that long both fairly easy labors. My 3rd had to surprise me, he was 2 weeks late so I went into the hospital for them to break my water-there was meconium in the amniotic fluid so they told me NICU would be present at delivery. I went into instant strong labor asked for an epidural,(my dr. had the nerve to tell me no because I had no meds with my 1st two) So, (HA HA) I fired him and asked for whatever dr. was available. Got my epidural and a half hour later began pushing. My son was completely healthy. On December 23, 2006 at 2:02 PM I had Dominick Xavier-James 7lbs. 9oz. and 21in.

With Jeff I had niggly backpain from 5o'clock th Thursday morning but didnt think anything of it. At 10o'clock Friday night I was in sever pain n couldnt get comfortable. Went to the hospital and was told I was only 2cm dilated so could go home and they'd see me the next day. Got home and the pain had doubled so mam phoned and they told me to come back in. Got there just after midnight.

Was on Gas and Air but ended up throwing it cos it made me feel sick.

Got cheched at 3.30am and was told I was 7cm. At about 4.10am my waters bursted and I was allowed to start pushing at 25 past. Only took 2 pushs and my beautiful son was with us.

Only needed 2 stitches and was back home at 8pm that night

This is my 1st. I was admitted at 9am on 16 feb 07,I didnt feel any pain till 530pm. Its more like mild menses cramp. I use to hv it 2wks b4 I was admitted but it comes n go. It stay like 15mins n I'm ok. But I notice it been like 2hrs n d mild cramp still thr.

I inform my hubby n he ask at d info counter. They say its better to put me in the ladour ward. I reach d ladour ward at 8pm,by 955pm i hv this sudden pain (not mild menses cramp) where d water bag eventually burst w 1cm dilated. 

In my heart "thank god I inform my hubby earlier,if not everything will b in rush". There, the pain get worst after the water bag burst. By 630am,I'm ready to welcome him n by 655am, I manage to hear his 1st cry.

i barely remember the first 2 days of my sons life...i had a hard to recovering from the surgery......and its been over a year and my scar from the surgery hurts a lot .....hurts when my pants rest there and i cant wear a belt........
definitely would have loved to do it the normal way......hopefully next time....

I hear you! After I was able to finally go home (which felt like forever) I ended up in Labor and Delivery again because I was so swollen everywhere! And ever since the surgery I have been numb all over my belly.

Reasons why I had to have a c-section were may including not dialating, cpd, Michael being slightly transverse and being slightly too long for me (he was 22.25 inches long...I stand 5 feet 2 inches.). I really hope to have VBAC if we are blessed with another child.
My midwife stayed with me through the whole thing and she was awesome :) My husband and I were very happy with all the great care we received.

I also saw a chiropractor while I was prego due to back pain. It did help a lot and we hoped if he could get my spine in alignment then I wouldn't have back labor. Ha ha ha, I had the worst back labor and I literally wanted to kill somebody when I was in transition. Hopefully with my next one, the back labor won't be as bad or even better, nonexistant!

I also had Horrible back labor. I didn't have access to drugs though, since I delivered at home. It was the worst pain of my life but definately worth it!

They had to break my water because it doesn't break on its on.  They broke my water when my son was on his way out!

My 1st was only 4hrs what a breeze no drugs. 2nd was a bit serious as she was in fetal distress so they broke my waters to induce me. I only went to hosp for my prenatal checkup and ended up having her 2hrs later no drugs again. My 3rd was 5 wks early water brokes on the sun didnt go into labour until the tues had him in 45 mins after labour starting... so im abit scared to go again incase i dont make it to the hosp no home births for me lol

i went into hospital on the 14th october 2008 for a sweep which they could not perform as my cervix was too far back. i told the mw that my baby had not been moving much so the sent me to be monitored. i was due to be induced the tuesday after but as my babys heartbeat was slowing down the decided to set me off that night at bout 7pm. my partner had to leave at 11pm so i was alone. i was having strong contractions (with no pain releif :( ) i was laid in bed at hospital about 4.15am when i heard a popping noise from my tummy so i stood up to go to the toilet and gush my waters had gone. (my waters didnt go with my first baby so dint know what to expect) my partner and mum was phoned to come in and i was told to take a shower (bearing in mind the strong contractions lol) anyway i was examined and was only 3cm so time went on the pain got worse think i had every drug they stocked lol. i got to the stage where i was ready to push after 9 hours when i was examined again to see if i was fully dilated. no i was still only 3cm gutted. i always said i would not have the epidural ever but as my babys heartbeat was still dipping the consultant came in and told the mw to get me to theatre for emergency c section i was absoulutly gutted as u can imagine after goin though all that pain then this. anyway i had to have the epidural and she arrived safely looking a bit grey bless her at half 2 pm my little darling kaytlin x

with my first i woke up feeling absolutely fine had breakfast watched a bit of tv, got up to let the dog out and thought i`d wet myself, got changed phoned mum as i always do in the morning and told her but as i started to laugh it happened a gain and then again. so i at last realised my waters had broken but were only leaking slowly this happend at 10.30am. mum came round when we realised i was in labour and my prtner came home from work because fast labours run in my family. my contractions didnt really start until about 3 in the afternoon but progressed quickly. by the time my midwife came and checked me at 5.30pm i was 8 cm dilated but still not in too much pain. got to hospital and started pushing at 6.30pm and it all went down hill. i had to stop pushing a 7.15 for 30 min cos theres was still a lip of my cervix over babes head, that was so hard!!! strted again at 8ish and ended up having an epiesiotomy (was cut with no drugs) after a total of 3 nhalf hours pushing cos babys head was slightly twisted, and my bubba girl was born at 9.56pm on wednesday 10 jan 2007 perfectly heathy, she just had a bit of a cone head cos she was stuck crowning for about 2 hours poor monkey, but its all fine now;). my second i had the same thing with the waters only it happend 8 weeks too early, i had a bit of an aching back but nothing a pregnant woman would think is strange. I phoned my midwife at 5pm on tuesday 5 aug after having a show and 2 slight leaks, she said to get to hospital asap. Got there at 5.35pm and was examined and told that i was already 6cm dilated and we had to try and stop the labour for as long as poss. because baby was coming 8 weeks early we i had to have steroid injections to help his lungs when he was born but they have to be given 24 hours apart and they wanted me to have at least 2 so i knew i was gona be there for atleast another 2 days. i had blood pressure tablets to stop contractions as that is a side affect of them but had b to be monitered closely i have a naturaly low blood pressure anyway. by wednesday at 10 pm i was 8.5 cm dilated and they had given me 2 shots of steroids so my midwife said she was going to give me a sleeping pil so i could get some sleep and i would hopefully relax enough to kick start contractions again. i woke up at 1am thursday with a hard contraction and a gush of my waters finally breaking properly. it was a long hard second stage as the same thing happend with my cervix and i was stopped from pushing for almost 2 hours, it was horendous, i finally had an epidural and my beautiful baby boy was born thursday 07/08/08 at 9.09am. he was in the nicu ward for 5 weeks and was home before his due date. he is now 6 months old and absolutley amzing, happiest baby i have ever known;)

I must be boring compared to most, I went into labour with my first at 9.30pm and he was born at 4.24am the next day weighing in at 8lbs 7oz and 2 weeks late. I had 3rd degree tears and had to be stitched but otherwise had no problems. My second was 2 weeks late and they decided to induce me, so we had the gel the night before and they broke my waters and started the drip at 7 the next morning- he ws born at 10.55am weighing 9lbs 7oz, still tore but only needed a few stitches. My third boy I went into labour at 12pm and had to wake my very drugged up husband who had his tooth pulled out only 3hrs earlier!!! we got to the hospital with minutes to spare and at 2.18am Luke was born weighing in at 8lbs 7oz and 4 days late. Now comes the real story- I found out at 18weeks I was having our first girl!! We were so excited. 3 Days later I was rushed to hospital with severe chest pains and back pains. It took the docs six days to work out that I had severe Gall stones and they weren't sure if our bub would live or not. I spent the rest of my pregnancy in and out of hospital on a three day turn around recieving morphine to stop me from passing out due to constant attacks. At 34wks and 5 days before xmas the docs decided that I could not carry any longer and induced me. I had the gel at 4pm and again at 12pm. At 7am they broke my waters telling me that I had only a 5% chance of delivering naturally and at 1.21pm I did just that. My daughter came into the world perfectly healthy, spending 3 days in special care to make sure that the gall stones and meds had not affected her. We went home on xmas eve with our precious girl. 6 weeks later I was rushed back to emergency surgery with severe pancreatitis and had my gall bladder removed, but thank god my beautiful girl was able to be here with us- I don't know what I would do without her or any of my beautiful kids!!! well done to you for lasting a 42hr labour as even survivng through my pregnancy and the attacks, I am not sure that I have the personal strength to last what you did!!

I started contracting every 7-8 minutes at 30 weeks. I was put on strict bedrest (first at home, then in the hospital). Contractions continued for 5 weeks (not painful, but very uncomfortable). At 35 weeks my blood pressure went through the roof (186 over 118) so they induced me Friday morning and after 58 hours (blood pressure continued to rise and I only made it to 4 cm) they had to do an emergency c-section. Dylan was 5lbs 2 oz and he spent 12 days in the NICU, but now he is right on par with other 6 month olds and no one believes he was a premie.

With my daughter I was in labor for 44 hrs, i had to have a drip to make dialate because after 37 hrs it turned out i needed help at the same time i had an epidural my daughter was pushing to get out but because i wasnt dialating she couldnt get thru, my waters wouldnt break so they broke my waters bout 1 hr later she was born at a healthy 9lb, we both had a very high temperature so they had to moniter us both over night, when she was born they didnt clean her our well enough her tummy was still full so she didnt eat for 4 days n we had to stay in hospial until she started eatin properly

On April 30/08 after tossing and turning all night my water broke at around 6 am. I had back labor so my contractions were all over the place and I wasnt sure what was going on as this was my first baby. I stayed home until 11:30 am and than decided that we should get to the hospital. I was only 2-3 cms dilated when we got to the hospital. Around 6:30 pm I was about 6cms dilated and decided to get the epidural as I was exhausted and needed some rest....best decision ever! Finally at 5 am I was fully dilated and they told me to start pushing. I did a few pushes than the nurses became worried as they kept losing the baby's heartbeat, and we both started to run a fever. So they decided to rush us into the highrisk ward. I began pushing again and they lost her heartbeat again and decided to give me an episiotomy (didnt freeze me or anything...ouch) and than they used the vacuum to get her out. Mariah was born at 6:04 am 7lbs 14oz on May 1...one day before my birthday. She is the greatest most beautiful birthday gift i have or will ever receive.

I did have quite a horrible recovery from the episiotomy though...they stitched me up wrong and I kept telling them to check the stitches and finally after 4 days they stitched me up again...but then a few days later they broke and i had to be stitched again...than a month later I was stitched up again as they missed a spot and it wasnt healing, so in total i was stitched 4 times!!! It was a very long healing process...over 14 weeks for me. But I would do it all again as crazy as that sounds :)

I was overdue so I went in to get induced on March 16th. I left the hospital at 11am and they told me to come back in 12 hours to be induced further with pitocin. They also said that it's rare (apparently) but some women take really fast to it and are back within a couple hours. Well that happened to me and I was back at 1pm and 4cm dialated. It was an easy labor, but I felt it wasn't going quick enough trying to push on my back so I decided to push on my hands and knees. It was quick from there and I had her at 9:49pm.

Due date: July 12, 2008

July. 13, 2008 - Woke up at 2am to go to the washroom and noticed I had lost my mucus plug then on the way back to my bed I started having contractions every 2 - 7 minutes ... contractions continued at the same rate (stuck at 4cm) until finally July. 15th 10am I got the epidural!! At around 1pm my doctor checked me and i was only at 5 cm so she figured I would still be quite a while and left. 1:30 the epidural was wearing off FAST so back to contracting every 2 minutes :( 2:00pm - 6.3cm  2:30pm - felt the sudden urge to push and by 2:58pm I was holding my beautiful baby girl Brooke-Lynn Marie!! The most AMAZING feeling in the world is when that baby is layed on your chest right from leaving your body! I would HONESTLY do it ALL over again just to feel that once again!

While I was pushing my nurse was in and out of the delivery roome calling a doctor ANY doctor over the intercom becasue they werent expecting me to go from 6.5cm to 10cm 30 mins so a very handsome doctor whom I did not know came in just in time to deliver Brooke's body and put her on my chest :) It was an amazing experience - I just hope that if there is a next time I'm not in labour for 61 hours!! That was the worst pain ever! But as soon as Brooke's head was out I was literally pain free...couldn't figure out why nurses were trying to give me Tylenol and other pain meds for the next 24 hours I was there.

My daughter's birth was pretty easy but still very very nerveracking! I had a scheduled c-section because of developing gestational diabetes around 28 weeks. I was due February 6, 2008 but was scheduled on January 31, 2008 at 8AM. When they scheduled me it was a week before the actual date and at that appointment I was 3cm dilated. They also had me in for non stress tests 2 times a week and at that appointment they said there were problems during the non stress test and were concerned they may have neededed to perform a c section that afternoon. Of course that scared me to death so they sent me to labor and delivery to be put on the monitor for a few hours to find out everything looked fine and I was good to go home. So January 31st would be the day unless she decided to come sooner. She didn't/ We went in at 7AM and planned to deliver at 8AM. Well that being said a few emergencies came through before me so I didn't end up delivering until 1:51PM. A lot of people are still under the impression that c-sections are so carefree, relaxing and so much better than natural deliveries. Since she is my first I can't say much for a natural delivery - although I did have some horrible contractions leading up to the c-section - BUT I can say a c-section is nothing to laugh at. Talk about the horrible pain afterwards! Whew! Anyway there were no complications, she came out within a few minutes, 9lbs 2oz and 21 inches long, screaming bloody murder - nothing like the sounds of your baby's first cry ;) All in all my delivery went smoothly and after a few weeks of recovery we were both happy and healthy ;)

I will try to give the cliff-notes version haha!
I woke up on a Wed. morning to bloody show and contractions that started coming about 5 minutes apart .... they eventually started coming about every 2 minutes. and then would get sporadic for a couple hours and then start up regular again. Thursday night ended up going to Birth Center but was only 2cm and 75% effaced. I went home to labor more there. Friday, contractions started lasting 5-7 minutes long with 5-7 peaks and only about a 30% break in between. I thought for sure this must be it ... but my midwife assured me I was still in early labor but my little girl's head was hitting my bone! I changed positions to get her head to move, and what do you know the contractions slowed down. Saturday they woke my up around 7am and stayed 2 min apart, lasting about 30 sec each all morning. Around noon we went to birth center, but I was still 2cm but I was reaaaaally soft to where she could pretty much stretch me to 3 cm (but her head was at an angle and not engaging) She sent us out to walk and get dinner and come back. I was on my fourth day of regular contractions and I was getting very frustrated because I seemed to be making no progress. Went back to Birth Center that night and my midwife gave me something to help me sleep that night so I could be rested and relaxed to let me body do what it needed to do. I woke up around 6:30 with a lot more watery discharge and was 3 cm and fully effaced and her head was engaged! She sent us out for breakfast and by the time I got back I was "officially" in active labor. I wanted to take a nap, after a short nap I woke up and was 5 cm and decided to labor in the tub. Got out, walked around a little, and then just labored in the "waiting" area for a while. Contractions started getting a little stronger (staying peaks longer), so I went back to "my" room. I was 8cm. I was having a lot of back pain, so my midwife had me get on all fours and not 30 seconds after getting in that position and my water broke.I spent transition in the tub. (Totally love natural endorphins! :)) And then around 8:30pm, I was ready to push. Because my back was hurting I couldn't get comfy in the tub, so I got out and pushed on the bed and by 9:13 pm I was holding my precious child! Drug free! No tearing! Went home the next morning! :)

My labor lasted for about 12 hours. But he was born on friday Nov. 14, wed. the 12th they started cervadil to induced me, and had to do 3 rounds of that to even dilate me. ( i was a month early due to high blood pressure). I started pitocin friday morning around 7:00am and got an epideral around 11:00am (while my water was breaking). I had TERRIBLE back labor. I started pushed around 5:30p.m and he did not arrive until 7:38pm. Payton Wayne weighing 5lbs 9ozs.

i started having minor contractions on thursday and was 1 centimeter, and the doctor sent me home, then sunday morning at 2:30 my water broke, got the hospital at 3, got an epidural at 6 and was ready to push by the time they were done giving it to me. but the the contractions stopped, so they had to give me petocin, and back off the epidural. then i started pushing at 7 and he was born at 8:02..so from the time my water broke to delivery it was only 5 1/2 hours...and the doctor almost didn't make it. at my hospital the ob doesn't have to be there when they give you an epidural..the anastiologist (not sure on the spelling) thought he might have to deliver the baby..but thankfully the ob got there..i did tear and had to get stitches, so i'm happy that i least had the epidural for the delivery. and they had to put an internal monitor on the baby because his heart rate dropped as i was pushing..but in the end i had a healthy 5 lb 14 oz baby boy...it was very quick for a first baby, which makes me alittle nervous about how quick the second one will be. (which won't be for a couple of years)

WIth my first, I worked all day the day before he was born and went out that evening, the hubby and I went to grab something to eat on the way home. As we were in the drive thru, I had my first contraction at 10:46 p.m. and it was exactly how they described. So we order-- cause I was hungry and didn't know when I would get to eat again-- go home and start timing everything. After we ate, my hubby got our little handheld walkie talkies and went and took his shower while I was laying down, and he was able to keep up with the contractions, then I go and shower. After about 3 hours, we call the hospital since they had finally gotten to 5 min apart, and they say come on in, which we lived 30 min away from the hospital. We call his mom and tell them we are headed, and I call my mom on the way. We get there, at 3 a.m. on the dot, and the nurse says we will bring you in and check you but since you arent hurting that bad we will most likely send you home. They check me and she says you have a funny feeling cervix let me get the other nurse to check you. Other nurse comes in checks me and says congrats you are staying, I said so why does my cervix fell funny, she said your cervix doesn't your bag is bulging and she felt the babies head. We get in the room at 3:26 a.m. I got my epidural and Tristan was here at 6:46 after only 8 hours of labor and weighed 8lbs 13 1/2 ozs. The second one I had to be induced because my blood pressure shot up. The dr broke my water with him at 515, and after several rounds of poticin, and the epidural wearing off, I felt like I needed to push, and the doctor on call was working out on his eliptical machine so they call him at 9 p.m. and say she is almost ready, he tells them when he finishes that set he will be in. He strolls in the door at 9:20 p.m. and says "oh s**t we are having a baby" Justin was born 7 minutes later and weighed 9 lbs 11 ozs and he was 2 weeks early. He was very brusied from being born so fast and had the cord around his neck but has had no trouble since The day he was due he weighed 10 lbs 10 ozs.

That was a big baby! I don't think I could have done that at home! My son was 7lbs 6oz. They thought he was only going to be 6lbs though. So that was kinda a shock. You rock for giving birth to such a big baby!

It was 42 hours from the first contraction till I gave birth. They kept slowing down and picking back up. My midwife came to my house 3x in 2 days! lol. I wasn't in a lot of pain until the last 6 hours. But with the support of my mom and my hubby, I made it through drug free. My midwife was shocked when I only pushed for 37 minutes. She thinks my next one will come really fast!

Oh and my son was posterior and tried to come out crooked. She had to push him back in and turn him before I could get him out, otherwise I think he would have come a lot faster! I did end up with a Labial tear from her pushing him back in and cuting me with a fingernail or ring or something. That was the worst part of the birth. It hurt so bad for about a week and a half!

Unfortunately he was in distress and had to spend 2 days in the nicu and another 8 in the hospital. Group B can apparently somehow get into the uterus and cause an infection sometimes. So I spent 10 days in the hospital with him. It was hard especially being away from my husband and daughter, but my son and I really bonded so it all worked out and now he's a big healthy almost 7 month old!

I was also postitive for Group B strep and had to have an IV of antibiotics while I was in hard labor. I ended up with the WORST yeast infection ever!

well i ws in labour for 27 n a half hours. tha day b4 i didnt feel rite. ws sick in the mornin and had hot n cold sweats so i rang the hospital n they sed to come in n have a checkup. i was put oin a monitor machine and was having mini contractions so they kept me in. i had my first propoer contraction at 4 in the morning and had sm pethidine. all that day i had really painful contractions and cdnt have any more pain relief cs i wsnt dilated enough. then i went to 4 cms at about 1 o clock in the mornin and was put on gas n air. that stuff is brilliant. my boyfriend even had a bit. it js tuk the edge off the pain. at about half past 2 i was takenthdown to the delivery suite and had an epidural. this really helped for a couple of hours but i needed it topping up and the midwife didnt do it properly and the pain was too much. i started havin a coughing fit and it was interfering wv the machines. next thing i knew i was having a panic attack and all these docs n nurses cm in from nowhere. they put my legs in stirrups and started to examine me. not very nice. my boyfriend had to look away. my baby was getting distressed and i was put in for an emergency ceasarean. that ws like a gift from god. it was so tiring and i was so scared. my daughter was born at 7.27 am on 4th november 08. she came bang on her due date and what a gift she is. i love her to pieces and wouldnt ever change her for anything in the world. theres nothing like it. hard work but well worth it.

Well with my first daughter I went for a long walk to the shop to get a sandwhich (which I was craving) and the next morning ( Tuesday 6th May 2003) I woke up with a sore back. I went visiting friends with my Mum that day and my back kept getting sore every now and then (I was only 17 so I didn't know you could have labour in your back). By 10 that night the "back pains" were more frequent and I started to not be able to sit down every time so my Mum rang the hospital and they said to come in. When I got there they said I was 3cm dialated and 75% effaced, I totally freaked out cause I was only 36wks and not really prepared. At 4;30 the nurse checked again and I was 7cm and fully effaced, but just as she got to the door my waters broke and 20mins later Jade Anne Margaret was here, blue and not breathing but they rubbed the hell out of her and she had a little cry, she only weighed 4lbs 15oz. Second daughter decided she wanted to come at 27 wks but they stopped it and she did come at 34wks I'd been having back pain since lunch time Tuesday 2nd November 2004. By 8:30 I knew it was happening so I went to the hospital. I was 3cm 50% effaced. By 11:00am the 3rd they decided it was taking too long and broke my waters and within 30mins Maddison Rose was born weighing 5lbs 1oz. She was screaming and healthy it was just a little hard for her to breath so she had to stay for 2wks, and my third, I went to the hospital for my appointment with the doctor and was 2 days over due(just to be different), I was having cramps in my stomach (something different also) so I didn't know if it was labour or not. When I told her she asked if I wanted her to check me out, I said yeah and I was 3cm and 75% effaced, she said to go home and have some rest because this baby was going to be here in the next couple of days, so I did. Then they stopped that arvo. But my Mum came and took the kid's for the night just in case. At 5 on Saturday 25th October I woke with back and stomach contractions and woke my partner up at 6. My Mum dropped my girls off at my sister-in-laws place and came and picked us up at 7:30. When I got to the hospital I was 5cm and fully effaced, by 11:30 I was in so much pain and the gas wasn't helping so much any more(which is all I'd had with the others) so I had some pethadine. It helped a little. And at 12:41 Teleah Paige was born weighing 7lbs 9oz.

That's bigger than my sister was, she was 10lb 8oz.  Honestly the biggest I've heard of.  You had her natural?  I can't imagine.   My daughter was 7lb 11oz and my nurse stretched me before she was born so I didn't tear.  But almost 11lbs?  ouch!!

My labor story started on Friday, may 5th. I went to work knowing I was in labor because I knew my labor would be long (my moms was long and I was prepared to have a long labor). I had contractions all day and all night. Sat morning my mom, sis, aunt, gramma, came to join my husband and I. We had fun laboring at our apartment, walking up and down the road. finally around 5 pm with contractions having been 5mins apart for about 5 hrs, we headed out for some ice cream, to the mall for a cell phone part and then across to the hospital. When the nurse checked me I was 1cm and 80%effaced, WHAT!?!? I have been in labor for 1.5 days and that is it? They sent me back home and I began to be sick. I kept getting sick for the next hour and told my husband to take me back to the hospital at 9pm because I was getting dehydrated. They checked me again and I was 1-2cm...good grief. I think around 5 am they finally broke my water to keep my labor moving. but my contractions still stalled and they gave me pitocin. sometime before all of this I had stadol and like Julie I had no epidural because a needle in my spine scares me too! Noah Matthew finally graced us with his presence at 10:00am on Sunday morning!!!! When i finally got to the pushing 2 hrs of that was nothing after how long everything else lasted. The best part is that I would take labor over pregnancy any day (or 3 days in my case)-lol.

mine first was 4 hours my water broke first. and my 2nd was only 1 hour 15 my water broke frist again. i was holding my 2 nds head as we tryed to walk in the hospital.

From the time that I got to the hospital to the time that my daughter was born was less than nine hours. That day I had actually been at my mom's funeral. I was in labor at the funeral and didn't know. When I got the hospital I was already dilated to five. I had to have my water broken though. I only had one hour of really hard labor. The contractions were so close together that I only had time to catch my breath in between them. Then I had my epidural and I felt nothing afterward. Thank God, because my daughter was 10 lb. !2 oz.! LOL. I only had to push for 20 min. tops. The downside was that I lost a LOT of blood, and I had to have 3 units transfused. Not fun.

When I was 36 weeks pregnant, my husband and I went out for a fancy dinner. It was our last "fling" before we became parents. We were joking about how funny it would be if our baby came that weekend, because my whole family (mom, stepdad, sister) was out of town. The next morning at 2:30am, I woke up to find my clothes and the bed all wet, and I seemed to be leaking. I woke up my husband and asked him if my water could break when I wasn't having any contractions. We called my doctor and she told us to head to the hospital. Because my water had broken, they wanted to get things going. I got a vaginal suppository to soften my cervix and get it to start dilating, and then was started on pitocin a few hours later. I didn't want an epidural, not because I'm against drugs but because the idea of having something stuck in my spine scares me. I had some Nubaine about halfway through which gave me some relief for about 1 1/2 hours. Then the contractions got so bad, I thought maybe I would like the epidural after all. But the nurse checked me and found I was 10 cm dilated, so she told me I couldn't have the epidural and went to get the doctor. My baby boy came out in 3 pushes with his hand up by his head. I had a fourth degree tear, but barely noticed any pain, I was so happy to see my baby boy. It was 14 hours from the time my water had broken, my son was born at 4:56pm September 28, 2009. My baby shower was scheduled for the following week, so we were way unprepared, and the first week was very hectic! Oh, and all my family got back home pretty quick after he was born. =)

Jaiden Elizabeth Dutton was born at 12:06 am, Sunday, February 3rd 2008. She was the first baby born on Superbowl Sunday. But I regretted going swimming instead of to the hospital. Because since my water had broke, chlorine had gotten inside my uterus. I didn't get to hold my baby girl for more than an hour after she was born because she reeked of chlorine when she came out. They didn't even let my fiancee cut the cord. She was hooked up to IV's from about and hour and a half after birth until one hour before we got to go home. Which was about 9:00pm Tuesday the 5th. But today she's perfectly healthy, turning 1, and expecting a sibling by the end of June. Now I know to make sure I'm not leaking anything before going swimming!

LOL. Well I am glad she turned out ok. I was also cramping and went to my midwife to see what was going on. I was 2cm dilated and 50% efaced. So she was like yep your in labor! 2 days later here came my little Aries Michael.
