Hi, my Health Visitor called to see me and my daughter this morning and has told me how to introduce baby rice to start weaning but i dont fully understand what she means how i should do it. She's told me to put a couple of spoons of baby rice in with her formula milk and mix it then give her the bottle, i dont fully understand what she means. Thanks :) Love Jodie x-x-x

Hi i started giving my son solid foods at 4months because the formula milk wasn't filling him he was always hungry. I started out my giving him baby rice or baby cereal, i used to mix the rice or cereal with his baby milk but i didnt out it in his bottle i fed him it with a spoon so that he got used to eating from a spoon at first he didnt understand and it took me ages to feed him one meal but after a month or two he got used to eating from a spoon and he cut down on his bottles to two everyday one in the morning and one before bed time. He now eats by himself (well most food) and he is 11months old.
I think that you should do it your own way i never listened to my health visitor and doing it my own way suited me fine. Good Luck with weaning your daughter.

aaah what i did was mix a bit of baby rice with some of his usual milk in a little food pot or the lid of his bottle .. i'm thinking thats what she means hun.

what i did with my daughter was i would put about 2 scoops of baby rice in her 7 ounce bottle.. it helps them get fuller when they eat... my daughter is 6 mnths old and ive been feeding her baby food.. i dont fully understand but is your doctor wanting her to wean off of formula or just try something else..
