Hey, I'm due with our 3rd on December 18th and it really hit me the other day that it is very possible I'll be in the hospital during Christmastime. Not sure how I feel about that...excited, best present ever, right?! :D But sad, because I was hoping to be able to finally have a holiday with my family since we won't be traveling this year (usually go to my husbands family) ...Something about these holiday babies....lol our last child was born nearly 2 years ago on Black Friday. Was in labor on Thanksgiving. lol How does anyone else feel if they're due around that time? Maybe help me get my perspective in order...haha

I am due 12-21-10 and I would feel happy but sad.I have 5 children at home and every holiday I am here with them so I would hate to miss it.On the other hand the baby is going to come whenever he wants to and that would be the best present of them all,but the kids would be quite upset considering they would have to wait for us to come home to open presents lol

I was 2cm at 37 weeks and my water broke at 38 weeks. and he came that night. So im hoping this little girl decided to do the same. I think she will. Im already huge so i dont think im going to last till 38 weeks.

I'm due Dec. 20, and I admit I'm afraid Christmas will be low-key this year for my three-year-old. But I'm a Christian, and to me, it's kind of cool to be pregnant and having a baby just like Mary 2000 years ago, which is why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. So it's kind of a neat season for me. Trying to be positive! :)

I'm due Dec 27. Christmas baby indeed. I would hope he comes earlier. If it wern't for our son this year I'd say the heck with christmas but We have a 4 yr old boy so we still need to make all the christmas efforts and santa. It worries me how organized I will need to be! GOing to miss my family as well, as they live in another town and won't be able to visit until the new year.

I am not due till jan 2nd, however am being induced Dec. 28 tho allow my mother to witness the nirth- she missed my daughter's. My daughter is 19 months- this will be the 1st xmas where she might comprehend..so yes it saddens me that possibly i could go into labor prior to this and be in the hospital on xmas.. i want to give her my all- especially sicne this add on will be a drastic change for her...

I am due dec 223rd and really th eonly thing that bothers me is the fact that I have a 3 year old adn i dont wan tot have to miss Christmas day with her watching her open her gifts. I also have been thinking of the fact that the baby may not get as many gifts as Christmas is a very money tight time. And having a birthday at that time they may feel partially left out...

jackie, your poor mom! and you're right, odds of your baby being born on due date is rare, unless you try inducing a week early lol but why would anyone do that?? ;p

I know what you mean, heather, I hope my daughter chloe doesn't get jipped either lol btw, love the name peyton! I considered that name too with our first daughter lol :)
We'll just see what happens :)

Hey! I'm due on Christmas Eve! I'm worried that my daughter, Peyton's, birthday will be mixed in with the holidays. I'm not so much worried about being in the hospital around Christmas. It would suck, but it's only one Christmas. I just hope my daughter doesn't get suckered out of a birthday by others every year, and I hope people don't just get her one gift for both occasions. That's not fair! I hope she comes early!

My mother was born on Christmas day and she hates it. Everyone wishes her Merry Christmas before they wish her happy birthday. They whole day is about Christmas and not her birthday and she only gets one present.

lol that happened to me too at my last dr appointment, she was measuring 2 weeks ahead. Would be interesting to see if our babies REMAIN 2 weeks ahead! And I agree, it will be a great holiday, think of all the baby announcements on here come December! lol Not much farther to go! Holidays should make it pass quickly! :D

Im preggo with my 2nd..due December 27th. Although the last dr. appointment i was measuring 2 weeks ahead! Im not really sure how i feel about the baby coming on christmas. I want to be there on christmas day with my daughter (19months) but i know if im in labor she will be there with me. So either way its going to be a great holiday! Wish all you other ladies the best of luck!

Good luck with the induction! I had that done with my second as well, started trying like you a week before due date. He ended up being born ON due date. boo. I sincerely hope you have better results than I did, I think it can be hard inducing early just because the body seems to fight it more, at least that was my experience. I had to be induced with my first also, but because she was a week late. Went in for the induction and had her the following day. So it seems easier when you're late than when you're early, but only because that's my experience lol I have nothing else to compare it too...I know how you feel though, 2nd Christmas for a child is fun, depending though when they were born. lol our son had just turned 1 before his second christmas and he was definitely still more interesting in the paper and boxes haha but was better than his first! (almost a month old) But I definitely wish you good wishes on an easy induction! Can't wait to hear how it goes :)

Im due December 27th with a baby girl. And my doctors are going to induce me at 39 weeks on December 20th. So i go before christmas and be home for my sons 2nd christmas. Ill dread being in the hospital on christmas day, it wouldnt be fair to my son. Even though he doesnt know its christmas.

Glad to know there's so many moms out there that feel like I do! It IS exciting, new babies are amazing and I can't wait to meet our new little girl, but I still don't want to be in the hospital on Christmas lol plus with our other 2 being 4 and 2, I don't want to miss out on the holiday with them! And my parents are flying from RI (we live in AZ) to spend the holidays with us...but we'll see what happens! This being the 3rd, I've been having more pains and pressure than the other 2 so maybe I'll be early for once! haha

Tracy, i think it was this post where someone else said they too had never stayed in a hospital before and i told her, the hospital stay is the best part!!! haha They bring you food and drinks, help with the baby, bring you medicine for all the aches and pains, will watch the baby if you want to sleep a little, its great! Its like a vacation! Its hard once you go home because then you have to do all that by yourself!!! Ugh! :) So no worries, look forward to it!

I'm due the 19th, and I'm definitely hoping NOT to be in the hospital for Christmas! This will also be our first year not to travel for Christmas, and I'm really hoping to be able to open presents under my own tree this time. I'm thinking we may celebrate her birthday in July instead of right before Christmas. Her big sisters were both born in August, so maybe we'll make birthdays a summer thing.

I am due Dec 21st and im kinda bummed that its so close to xmas. I feel like I have to figure out a way to make the day special since its around, or may be on, such a big celebrated holiday. A friend of mine proposed a half way there birthday, so the baby will have a day of his/her choosing @ the halfway point to their birthday and can experience a birthday with out the hustle and bustle of the holiday. I thought it was a cute idea.

I am due on Christmas day with our first child, and that is also my husbands birthday. he is excited but at the same time knows what its like to have a birthday on that day, and he is not a fan of the Christmas holidays, so he doesn't want his baby boy to grow up the same way he did...

I am due Dec 27th and really hoping the little gaffer doesn't try to come out on Christmas day. Even though I know I'll be super uncomfortable and probably tired of being pregnant by then, I'd rather have the baby a little later. I almost feel like he's going to get jipped if he's too close to Christmas. Not just on presents, but on having his own special day.

I'm due with our second baby boy Christmas day. My doctor wants to schedule my c section for the day of and i'm furious! i'd rather have it scheduled for a week before so i'll be out by christmas day, seeing as this is the first year my other son will actually understand what christmas is. I feel for the other moms out there due around the same time but hopefully we get our way and the babys decide to come early or hold off til afterwards.
Its also stressful knowing you need to prepare for another child which is a lot of shopping in itself, while also trying to afford gifts for the rest of the family. I don't want my son to come out christmas day because i dont want him to miss out on having a birthday of his own,no one will come to a childs party on that occasion because their usually with their own familys and moneys always tight for everyone around that time of year. I'm just hoping for the best :) n good luck to everyone else!

I know what you mean, jennifer. Anytime someone I know has a birthday near a due date, everyone gets excited that maybe the bay will be due on their bday. :D My current pregnancy is due a week after my dad's birthday, a week and 3 days after my uncle that passed away and my best friend/cousin. lol So I have 3 possible birthdays :D But we'll see!!

lol debbie...I know...haha When my daughter was 2 I started aching for another baby so we started trying again. Didn't have to try for very long...haha. Then with this 3rd she was a surprise lol Its hard sometimes BECAUSE they're so close in age, they all act like a bunch of babies sometimes haha but its also nice because they're close in age because like you said they're close. When they're being nice to each other, I have heard my daughter say to her brother that he's her best friend. lol awww....And then I have a cousin who is the opposite, had her 3 kids spaced out...14, 6 and 2. lol She says its nice, she gets lots of help, and 2 of the kids are in school. But she says they all have their own lives, not close. So....good and bad I guess no matter which path we take in life, right? :D Congratulations on having a boy! Son's are great, they love their mommies the best. lol :D

Angela, that is sooooo cute! Sounds like he has some idea of whats going on, at the very least that he's having a baby sister and will teach her manners. LOL :D When in November? My son turns 2 on November 28th lol

I know what you mean, Jess! We're not going anywhere because all our family is too far away to travel to, but I am concerned because this is our 3rd and I worry about not making it to the hospital in time on the offchance that I go into labor naturally! lol (the past 2 pregnancies I have had to be induced, so no rush haha) I love the stocking idea! That is so cute! :D

Hey, I'm due with my first child on the 26th December. I am not really excited about the timing, as we have many family lunches and dinners to go to, and have to try stay close to the hospital. Everyone in the family is thrilled as they want it for their christmas present. They are also planning on getting bubs a stocking to fill for christmas and birth presents even if not born yet. :)

Hi, I am due December 22nd, so I am right at Christmas, I am excited because it will be the greatest Christmas present I could get. I see where you are coming from on this though, because I also am worried about being in the hospital on Christmas Day, I would rather be home with her on Christmas and not in the hospital. But don't worry, just think you will have a little baby on Christmas and it will all be worth it :)

Suzie, I liked everything you said. I can't help but agree, I love Christmastime, (and yes, the music is one of the best parts! lol) and being excited about a baby coming during one of my favorite times of the year is a great thought to have. I think it will be great to have the baby at such a special time of year when peace, joy and love is at its annual high! also christmas music rocks

I am due with our first on December 13th and I am hoping my baby will be on time, except I have a feeling that it will be closer to Christmas. I am having mixed feelings about that because my immediate family lives in the area but the relatives all live out of area so I really do not want them having to travel to where we live so close to Christmas. What I am planning though is to just do gift cards for everyone this year so that minimizes my time having to be stressed out with the shopping crowds. Beyond that all my decorating will be accomplished the day after Thanksgiving with the help of my awesome hubby. :)

Jo, move to Arizona. December is absolutely perfect here lol of course I kind of miss the snow...maybe we can be like that movie The Holiday and vacation at each others house so I can experience a lil cold weather and you can get out of the cold. hahahaha I know what you mean about birthdays, a small part of me hopes our bub will come a lil early, my dad's birthday is the 11th (I'm due the 18th) might be funny if she was born on her grandpa's birthday lol and considering he doesn't really celebrate his birthday anymore, I'm sure they wouldn't mind sharing a bday haha

ooh, New Years baby! Kind of a nice way to ring in the new year lol and your baby will always think all the parties and fireworks are because of his birthday lol that's what happened to my cousin, he was born on the 4th of july, his whole childhood he was under the impression all the celebration was just for him hahahaha
