Hi All.. I am Trish and I adopted two children about 8 months ago. It has been a long, uphill battle; but I am grateful and thankful for all the blessings they have given me. During this time I have had to deal with so many of their issues (PTSD, ODD, Attachment, ADHD and Anxiety) that I have not enjoyed THEM as much as a new parent would want. I find myself grieving sometimes at the unfairness these children have had to deal with and selfishly the unfairness I feel for not being able to experience the REAL joys of Motherhood. I am going to be blunt and probably say what many adoptive parents are thinking: "When does the heartache end and the living begin".. I love my precious children dearly and although we still stuggle with the attachment to our son; I have to believe that no matter how I feel or how hard it is that the opportunity that we have given these broken children is better than any ill feelings I might have. Does anyone else struggle with emotion? Does anyone else struggle with attachment? Does anyone have advice or tools that will help us bond as a complete family?

Hi!! My husband and I adopted our son two years ago. He came to live with us at age 5 and at age 7 the adoption was finalized. We are currently in the adoption process to adopt again. We chose foster to adopt. There are so many children in the foster care system that need families. If you ever need to talk or any questions I will try to help.

I'm new also and I'm not quite sure how this works. I am an adoptive Mom of 2.
