My daughter is not crawling yet.....she's 8 months and 3 weeks. She was preemie.....I guess that is part of it. She's very bright, but just doesn't seem interested.

I wouldn't worry, either. Tho if you want to, you could ask your ped. But I think they say as long as a baby crawls by 10 or 11 months they are within "the range." I was at mommy & me yoga yesterday and one of the other moms has a 8 1/2 month old who also wasn't crawling yet. So you're not alone. :) Your daughter may one day just get up on her hands and knees and bolt. Or she may skip straight to walking, which I've heard others do.

My daughter is 9 months old and was 5 weeks early. She also is not crawling. Would rather sit up or walk with my help. They catch on fast so hang in there!

Emma just turned 9 months old today & she is also a preemie. She stated crawling about 2-3 weeks ago & now she is all over the place & is pulling up on everything & almost ready to walk. She'll get it mama in her own time. Hang in there

They say that 1 out of 3 babies will not crawl and that is not a problem. They think that since babies are now put to sleep on their backs that they dont practice in their cribs like we all used to as babies. Its fine..and probably easier this way! Except for the frustation that my son seems to have b/c he wants to just get up and go.

I know it's easy to say but dont worry, three days ago my daughter couldn't crawl, was showing no signs of even attempting it and then all of a sudden two days ago she started crawling out of nowhere, so literatly it can change overnight!! xx

My oldest daughter (21 monthes)  walked before she crawled..... and my youngest(9 monthes) is rolling and "army crawling".  All babies are different.

My daughter is also 9 months old (born April 29), and she does not seem at all interested in crawling. She loves to sit and will be content for a long time that way (no complaints by me!). She really does not move around much at all (scooting, rolling, etc.) but she loves to stand. She will bear weight on her legs and hold herself in a standing position anytime we put her that way. She is healthy and doing well, so I am not worried. She has started to do more acrobatics in her crib (we find her on her tummy or flipped around) now, but she does not seem to do that much rolling on the floor. We just keep putting her on the floor (sitting, tummy, etc.) and watching.

my baby just started crawling, sitting up, and standing all in  a three week time period... she is 9 months and 2 weeks old...... so don't worry at all she will do it at her own convenience, plus i know 2 eight month olds who literally do nothing at all just lie there and stare and thier doctors are not worried

Hang in there it will come at a blink of an eye... like some of the other moms said kids scoot, army style drag themselves or like my son go backwards by pushing himself with his hands but very rarely goes forward. Some just get up and walk!! You shouldnt worry to much and  dont forget to adjust your "age" of your daughter when looking at charts of "activity" they will be doing at certain ages. As long as you feel she is meeting most goals and is happy and heathly enjoy the time now that you have as some others have said you tend to wish they slow down once they take off hahahahaha Good Luck!!!

My little girl will be 9 months in 5 days, 1 week late, and she's not crawling either. She just dones't have any interest it. But she's dying to walk. I dunno. I guess she's just going to do it in her own time.

my son is 9 and half months and isn't really bothered although has just started to crawl backward is last few days. my daughter who is now 3 and 1/2 didn't crawl til 11 and half months and didn't walk til 19 months!!! they are both quite chilled and contented kids. as long as you give plenty of tummy time and encoragement it will happen. then the fun starts!!!!

I think crawling happens at all different ages.  I watch two babies and one was crawling at 5 months the other is 11 months and just started to crawl.  My daughter started a little over 7 months but she really only crawls for a real purpose like to me or a fave toy.

my son will be 9mo tomorrow, and he isn't crawling yet either.  He tries to get into the position, but always has one leg that won't cooperate.  Although he’s not crawling, he does get around well – either scooting on his butt, or his (and my) personal favorite log-rolling across the room!

My daughter is 9 months to the day and has zero interest in crawling. I think she's way to good at rolling to give it a try!

She also doesn't have an interest in feeding herself...aaaa, the good life.  :)

My daughter is 9 months and 10 days and is not crawling. She has been sitting on her own since 6 months and is quite content just sitting and playing for hours. I put her on her tummy everyday for half an hour but nowhere near crawling!

Exactly - my 9 1/2mo old scoots around on his butt, or if on belly will pull himself with his arms but no crawling.  My 4 yr old was crawling at 7mo though. All in due time!

My Jack is the same age and is just now scooting. He is trying to crawl, and I'm sure he'll get it soon, but I'm tired from just keeping up with him from rolling and scooting around the floor! The average age is 9-12mo to start crawling anyway.
