These are marked for toddlers but I have been giving them to my 10 month old and she seems fine with them. Wondering if other Moms give them to babies in this age group? and how do they expect one baby to eat the whole can in 5 days? Do you really throw them out after that?

my son is 9 months old and he LOVES them!  Youre supposed to throw away the can after 5 days?  OOOPs!!  Didn't know that ... definitely extended that!  And my son will sit there taking one out after another.. until the can is GONE if i let him.  He doesn't even have to look.. just mogs out!  :)  If I take it away he cries.  I guess theyre addicting ;)

My daughter Cameron (Born April 10th) has been eatting them for about 1 month, she only has 2 teeth.  Did you taste them..... they are delicious!!!  They never last 5 days in my house but if they did I would not toss them in the trash.... they are sealed well in the container they come in..... I can't see them going bad in just 5 days.

My son is 9 months old and has 8 teeth. He will eat everything! He has been eating them for about a month or so. He also loves cheerios, gerber ceral bars, graduates juice treats, arrowroot cookies, chips, toast, macaroni...well you can get the picture. I have found that It doesnt hurt to try different types of food. If your worried you can always consult your family doctor or phone the Nurse Hotline.

I dont throw them out simply becasue they dont go bad or anything they just so a bit stale after 5 days...but babies love them anyways.

Yeah, that's why I don't buy them...they're really just cheesies marketed differently. I wouldn't give my 11 month old cheesies, so don't think they're great for babies. I just don't see the nutrition in them.

My son is also 10 months old and he eats the crunchies like they are going out of style. I say your baby should be fine. And the throw away after 5 days...i dont. As long as you keep them in the can with the lid on it. Its just "cheetos" in a smaller version so if you dont trust the 5 day thing you could just by a bag of cheetos (the puffy kind) and you and the baby could share them. LOL.

My son Michael has been eatting them for about a month, and has not had any problems (he has 5 teeth). I havent had to waste a can of them yet since my son is a big eatter and they dont last 5 days lol. But like everyone else has said, I cant see them going bad in only 5 days?

My son is 10 m/o and has been eating them for about 2 months. He doesn't have any teeth, but I started giving them to him to help with teething and he just absolultly loves them. It also is not just my son, both of my around 1 year nieces are hooked on them (like a baby addiction). I feel okay about them because they just dissolve in his mouth- I know I tried some and they seem pretty nutritious. Like every other post I've read- they don't last but 1-2 days in my house.

I don't give my son the crunchies, they have milk in them but I do give him the gerber puffs etc. since he was like 8 months old.  I think they just put 12 months on the products as a safety procaution, so that if something does happen to a smaller child they aren't held liable.

My daughter is 10 months old and has only two teeth and we have been giving them to here since she was 9 months old. She loves them and eats them very well. She also enjoys the finger food puffs by the same brand. And NO I don't throw them out after 5 days ... thats crazy lol. As long as they are stored well it takes a little bit longer then that for them to taste stale but they are still fine to eat :)

I never actually given my daughter the crunchies. But definately all the other products like this. She will actually eat anything so I definately try to encourage that by given all sorts of foods. As long as they are able to eat them and are not choking I think it would be fine.

I did give her the dried fruits and yes the expiry date is the same. I did keep them a bit longer than 5 days. I did eventually throw them out after about 1 1/2 weeks just to be on the safe side.

Hello, my son is 10months now and I started giving it to him at 8 1/2mths and he was fine with that. He didn't really finish the container in 5 days, probably in 7 days or so. He is still taking them and it still takes about 7 days or so to finish them.

We do this too! My son will eat the whole can in 5 days so we have never had to worry about throwing them out. All our kids were on "table food" earlier than "they" say but it has worked for us.

Thanks for all the replies, I feel safer giving them to her now and also not throwing them out after 5 days like it says on the can, I would assume they just get stale.

My daoughter has actually been eating these since she was about 7 or 8 months old and she loves them! We've never had a problem at all with any food actually. She eats just about everything we do now (she mooches:)) Yesterday she got into her daddy's lunchbox and took out a whole apple he hadn't eaten. I watched her to see what she would do and she started to chew it! She has 6 teeth now so she was actually eating it!!  Also, I don't throw them out after 5 days either.
