I would like to hear some of you guys great birthday party ideas that you may have for yor little one who's turning 4 this April. This will be my daughters first real birthday party that I will actually invite some of her little day care friends. Have no clue what kind of party to throw for a toddler turning 4. Help

I agree with Michelle, pick her 'favorite' character (or maybe a less-favorite but more popular character, my daughter loves Ariel and Dora, she'll be 4 in April),

You could do a general princess theme with a 'spa' where they brush hair and paint their nails, have little crowns or 'princess' toys in the goody bags (necklaces, bracelets, etc).

Pick the favorite things your kid likes to do, my daughter loves play-doh and helping me in the kitchen so maybe you could do a 'no bake' cookie type of thing where each child can make some, although that'd require parent help all around I think...

You could look online to figure out how to make balloon animals and decorate with those, but chances are they'll just enjoy playing with each other at that age.

Good Luck!

pick a theme that involves a character she knows then plan around that have simple party games a cake that goes with the theme and for the most part just let the kids play.

The first step to host a successful party is to choose a theme and then plan the entire celebrations around it; be it your invites, food, or favors. The choice of theme should be purely on your daughter’s preference, so choose any character she loves such as Elmo, Dora, Mickey & Minnie, etc. If she is not a fan of these characters, choose her favorite color, as a theme. Her favorite animal can also be a theme. If you are still clueless, host a princess or a fairy theme party. For more ideas, here is a useful link.

I am doing a dress up party for my 4 year old. The invite asks that kids come dressed in their tea party bests, with tutus and pearls and bow ties and top hats. I made my own invitations. I am going to buy cheap necklaces and rings at the dollar store for those who did not wear many accessories. I will get all my daughters dress up clothes and jewlery out and probably ask for her cousins to bring all theirs and set them all up in her room, which will be the dressing room. For favors, I saw little containers at the dollar store (for wedding favors) and I am going to buy a variety of candy (gum balls, skiddles, gummy bears) and have a candy buffet. Maybe me and my daughter will decorate the little containers with glitter and stickers to go with the fancy dress up theme. For food, I am going to make PB&J sandwiches and cut them out like a heart. Apple slices with peanut butter, pretzels and gold fish for the kids Maybe meatballs and a nacho dip for the parents. I will also have a punch bowl. I am going to ask around for tea cups. I am sure someone has an old set we can use so the kids can have their punch in a tea cup. I will decorate with pink, purple and yellow colors. I'll visit the craft store for pearl strands and pink or purple feathers to decorate the main table and maybe fill a vace with for the center piece.

My daughter is all about dressing up and looking like a princess so this is right up her ally. I actually got the idea online by googling fancy nancy party. She is not into Fancy Nancy too much, but the theme suits her well. Good luck with whatever theme you decide.

This will be my daughters first party too, she will be inviting a few friends from daycare and a couple relatives.

We will be having a spa day for them at home, soaking their feet, and painting nails, she loves that stuff.
