Jaelyn will turn eight months on the 22nd of this month. She has been eating all pureed food and has been eating the 2nd food dinners for about a month now. I have noticed that recently she has been chewing the puree's that i give her. I have been giving her those gerber puff thingys for a snack and have also been giving her juice but my question is .. is anyone giving their babies fingerfoods? If so what have you been giving them? I feel that she is ready to eat finger foods because she is chewing already but i'm just not sure about what to give her... any suggestions...?

yeah start experimenting, i have been given my eight month old daughter, puffs, and cheerios, and i have also have given her small pieces of toast and crackers that she can eat. She doesn't not want baby food anymore, so we are in the process of switching, she just wants to grow up already, just be sure to watch her while she is trying these new things

One of Ella's first foods at 6 months was rice husks. Although now we switched to the veggie rusks. She loves cherios. She opens her mouth and squaks like a little baby bird for more. Although she hasnt mastered the pincher grasp yet and needs to be fed them. She loves banana and pear. And every once in a while I will let her have some plain toast.

Thank you girls.. Jaelyn has two bottom teeth now they both cam e in this week and she also has been getting better with eating finger foods. She will put them in her mouth herself also. I have been giving her toast , pancakes(which she loves), those gerber graduates cookies and puffs. I tried giving her fruit and veggies diced up but she threw them up so I don't know if her stomache can handle those yet? Although when i give her diced banana she won't throw it up. I tried the cheese raviloi gerber graduates and she actually liked them even though the smell was disgusting.

I give my little girl bananas, gerber puffs, biter biscuits and crackers. She LOVES crackers! I just buy the townhouse orginals and she's been eating those since the beg. of Nov. before she even had teeth. I also give her bites of whatever I'm eating.

I give my baby toast, gerber snacks, she loves chilled tomatoes, mangoes and bananas. I know a lot people give Cheerios but I only give them to her if I soften them up first with a little water.

not really it doesnt matter if they do not have any teeth yet so as long as the foods you choose to give them are soft enough,! like bananas or even those teething rusk which are too har they should be able to just chew with they're gums and it'll help them get used to all the different textures

I haven't given my little one finger foods yet. He doesn't have teeth yet. Should they have teeth before you give them finger foods? Mine will be 8 months on the 27th.
